40 Things To Remember During Lockdown

2020 has basically been a write off for most of us, and with us heading into another lockdown, I think it is important to give everyone a few reminders. Lockdown is going to be hard on everyone, not being able to see our families in different houses, financially for some of us, our mental health, and in various other ways. There are a few things we all need to remember going into this next lockdown, and just looking after our mental health during winter.

01. It’s okay to take a break

02. It’s okay to reach out to loved ones

03. You will get through this

04. You are not alone

05. Your future self is so proud of you

06. All of this will be worth it one day

07. Times are tough, but so are you

08. Healing is messy, but you will get there

09. Doing your best can look different everyday, and that is important

10. Train your mind to see the good in every situation

11. Growth is still growth, no matter how small

12. Try to end everyday with a positive thought

13. There aren’t limits to what you can accomplish

14. 10% of life is what actually happen, the other 90% is how you react to it

15. I can create my own reality to make the world a better place

16. You were given this journey in life because you’re strong enough to live through it

17. Protect your energy and keep yourself safe.

18. It’s okay to express your emotions

19. It’s been a tough year, but your mind is still cheering for you

20. Be proud of your progress

21. Show yourself that you can depend on the person you’ve become

22. Trust your instincts

23. Don’t use your energy to worry, use it to believe, grow and heal.

24. Remember that lots of people don’t have a clue the journey we’re going on

25. Lift yourself up every time you want to put yourself down

26. Surround yourself virtually with positive influences

27. Learn something new and fill your own cup with joy

28. Ignore the what if’s and focus on doing your best

29. It’s okay to rest

30. Water your own mental garden daily

31. My thoughts aren’t always rational, I can get through this.

32. Take a deep breath, inhale good thoughts, exhale the negativity

33. Find ways to stay connected when you’re feeling isolated

34. Develop healthy boundaries while at home

35. Do not allow your anxiety to limit your journey

36. Fighting this feeling won’t help, I’m going to breathe and allow it to pass

37. I won’t focus on the past, I will focus on the present and my goals for the future

38. I will silence my inner critic

39. Don’t focus on the things outside of your control

40. I will listen to some calming music to calm me

Lockdown is going to be hard on everyone, but do not feel like you have to go through this alone. We are all in this difficult time together, and by taking time apart from the people we love means that we can protect our loved ones, and hopefully come back together soon.

I’m grateful to be able to video call my family daily, and see my grandparents twice a month as I take food down to them as they are high risk, and it is so important to help the people who are high risk or having to shield, if you are able to.

Let me know your reminders for lockdown 2.0!

Love this! It’ll be so helpful for a lot of people. Nothing much is going to change for me in the second lockdown as I’ll still be going out to work as normal so it’ll be kind of nice to maintain that routine.

  • I love this, I love how much time and effort would have gone into creating this post – and how many people it will make smile and feel a bit relieved!
I am going to be more positive this time around and I’m going to try to work on my fitness – which should help my brain a little!

Oh Amie, I really needed to see this. I love it. I can’t quite believe this is a lockdown though as I am still going to work and sending my kids to school which seems odd. But I think for those reasons it is going to be tougher mentally.

    Brilliant post x

  • Lucy says:

I can imagine that people are going to find this lockdown a lot harder as it’ll be harder to see loved ones, I hope you are ok with the lockdown Amie x
