I have spoken a lot about mental health lately, however I feel like with the current pandemic has has such an impact on a lot of people’s mental health and I think it is important that we normalise talking about mental health and stop it from being a taboo. This post is dedicated to 50 mental health reminders we all need, most importantly on our difficult days.
Mental health is always difficult, you feel like you’re constantly in a battle with your own mind, and makes life difficult to function normally. The most simple of tasks for most can be near impossible for someone who is struggling, but there are a few things that you need to be reminded of.
Are you ready to find out the reminders?
01. It is okay to go to therapy.
02. It is okay to ask for help.
03. It is okay to cry.
04. It is okay if you need time away from people.
05. It is okay to take some time to reflect.
06. The voice inside your head saying you aren’t good enough is wrong.
07. It is okay to set boundaries for your mental health.
08. It is okay if some days you are just simply surviving.

16. You are not defined by your illness.

18. It isn’t your job to please everyone.
19. It isn’t selfish to put yourself first.
20. You can do anything you put your mind to.
21. Your illness doesn’t make you unlovable.
22. Remember to celebrate your small victories.
23. It’s okay to feel lost, it won’t last forever.

25. Growth takes time, it doesn’t happen overnight.
26. Your feelings are valid.
26. It is okay to not have everything figured out yet.

34. It is okay to forgive yourself if you’ve been too hard on yourself.
35. You deserve to be here on this earth.
36. You are not a failure.
37. Recovery isn’t linear, you can start again tomorrow.
38. It is okay if you feel like you can’t get out of bed.
39. You are more important than your anxiety, your depression, your trauma, your mistakes and your illnesses.
40. It’s okay to miss who you used to be.

45. You are not alone in your struggle.
46. It is okay to enjoy the good days.
47. It is okay to forgive yourself if you think negatively.
48. You are more than your anxious thoughts, your past trauma, your mistakes, your flaws and your mental illness.
49. Your illness may be invisible but it doesn’t invalidate it.
50. You didn’t come this far to only come this far.

Absolutely love this list!! I always make my bed when I get up so if that’s the only thing I do that day, I know I’ve done something!! 🙂 xx
This is such an important and beautiful post! Many people don’t realize that it’s O-K-A-Y to feel down sometimes, to cry, to be angry, to take a break. After all, we’re just humans and not robots. We all have our bad moments. I really like number 17 – You will make mistakes and that is okay.
This is so undoubtedly correct!!! Mistakes are fine, as long as you learn from them!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It’s really good to see such content on the Internet. People need to read things like that!

These are such important reminders! ‘even though it may be invisible it doesn’t invalidate it’ THIS is what everyone needs to know. The amount of people who say things like ‘she seems happy’ and ‘but she was constantly smiling’ without actually looking deeper annoys me. These are very empowering and definitely help me feel more comfortable. Thank you for sharing.
These are really needed today; thank you for sharing them! Little reminders are always lovely to read everyday; it really keeps you going sometimes.
