To The People Who Are Struggling

To The People Who Are Struggling

We all have those moments right? Where we are going through one of the roughest patches, we feel like we can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel and honestly it can be so tough and it can be an incredible emotional struggle to just get through the day. I have had lots of those recently, especially when it comes to my mental health, because if you suffer from anything to do with mental health, then you will have days where getting out of bed can be a huge achievement for you. So I have been working for a while on this post because sometimes you need to honestly give yourself a break to realise that it is going to be okay!

To the person who is struggling,

You might be at a point where you’re feeling like you can’t take any more bad news, or any more hits in your life that attempt to bring you down. Sometimes you feel like one more hit and you will have hit your breaking point, however, listen to me you beautiful human, you’re an incredible person who is capable of so much in this life.

You’re probably reading this and thinking, you don’t know me, you don’t know what I have to go through every day, you don’t know what demons that I might have to face. Listen to me though, I might not know what you’re going through, however, that doesn’t ever mean you have to go through this alone. I am the type of person who loves to listen and support others, so please don’t ever feel like you are alone in whatever struggles you might be going through.

There will be times where people will try to bring you down, try to be negative towards you, or try to say things that are horrid, but what you need to remember is those people aren’t worth the time of day. Sometimes it can be down to jealousy, it can be out of rudeness, or boredom or just because they’re not a very nice person. What you need to remember is you’re not any of the negative words that anyone could say. You’re an incredible person in every way shape and form.

When you’re in a dark place sometimes it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel and things will never get better, but remember that in every dark picture, comes a moment where you see a flicker of hope. A flicker of hope can come in the form of many different things like friends, family, opportunities, life choices, children, even the small achievements.

Life is one of the most difficult journeys that you can take, there is so much that could happen. You learn and you grow as a person, but also you learn to love another, which is an absolutely wonderful feeling. The negatives don’t deserve to rule your life and yourself, they don’t deserve any part of you, because to be honest, you’re an inspirational person who deserves the best.

So when you feel like you’re struggling, take a moment for yourself, take a deep breath, speak to loved ones and share that burden that you’re feeling. Life doesn’t have to be so dark, you need to surround yourself with fantastic people who love and care about you, that is what makes the world a little brighter.

You can get through this, I know you can.

I love your honesty in this blog post! I’ve battled depression & anxiety for over 10 years now and I think at times it’s easy to get lost in the moment of the chaos that you feel is taking over your life. I’ve been trying to find ways to stay positive so this has definitely inspired me to keep it up! By the way, is your mug Kate Spade? I have the pink one that says “skirt the rules.” 🙂

Mental health is still one of those things that not everyone understands so it can be very easy to feel alone, so we need more people/bloggers out there reaching out!

Thank you so much lovely! It can be so difficult to understand before you’ve been through it, I know sometimes some of my family struggle to understand how difficult it is, but I think the more that we talk about it, the more we can move things forward and help others to understand. ?

Thank you so much Amy, you honestly don’t realise how much that means to me. It honestly means everything to me! That was one of the reasons that I wrote this post, to allow people to have that reassurance and to help others.?

  • Mira says:

I found this post on the Girl Gang Newsletter and I’m glad I did, your words are truly inspirational and you’re right, talking to someone always feels like lifting a weight of your shoulders and it adds a new perspective to a situation. Another thing that is so important but sometimes hard to realise is that it’s not you, it’s them. Mean people are often very miserable themselves. We need to surround ourselves with people who empower us and help us shine. xx

    • amiecadwallader@outlook.com says:

Thank you so much Mira, it honestly mean the world. I totally agree with you, sometimes however, I think it’s harder to cut the people who are mean out of our lives when they mean a lot to us, so it takes time, but hopefully this post helps others on their journey!?

  • Theo Person says:

You are such a caring soul. Even to people you don’t know, and that’s not something you find often in todays world, and I think that’s really amazing. Honestly you’re one of the people who inspired me to start a blog. Before I didn’t think that it would be a good idea. But after reading your posts, seeing how honest and helpful you were. I decided to give it a go. I just wanted to say thank you. So much!!! 🙂

    • amiecadwallader@outlook.com says:

That is one of the greatest compliments I have ever received. Thank you so much for one of the greatest things anyone could say to me! You honestly don’t realise how much that means to me!?
