10 Amazing Things From 2018 – The Year In A Nutshell

2018 has definitely been a year of change for me, it’s been a year where people have come into my life and then swiftly left, it’s been a year where I’ve realised who is true to me and who isn’t. Not only that it’s been a year where I feel like I’ve started to say enough is enough and do what makes me happy. I’m in a much better place for it and I feel like I’ve got a new lease of life. So what wonderful things have happened this year?

1. I met blogger friends!

If you hadn’t seen in July I met Saskia and Laura. I’ve actually been friends with Saskia for over 4 years and Laura for about 2, and being able to meet them both was such an amazing thing. I also met Ella in December and we wandered around Covent Garden, having delicious food & chats.

2. I cut out toxic people from my life

Even though that isn’t particularly positive, it is one of the best things that I could do, I feel like I’m in a much better headspace, I have a life filled with amazing people and that is all that matters.

3. I became an Auntie again.

I became an auntie to one of the most gorgeous little girls, she is one my favourite little squishes and she gives the best thumb squeezes ever.

4. I became a bunny mumma.

If you’ve only just started to read my blog I am a bunny mumma and her name is BB-8. She has bought so much happiness to my life, it’s amazing how such a tiny animal can make me so happy and not only that she knows how to cheer me up when I’m sad.

5. I fell in love with Instagram

Yep, I am loving posting to Instagram. Even though it is an absolute ball ache, it doesn’t have a chronological feed & apparently this is all in our favour, it’s still a massive pain the arse.

6. I saw Aladdin in London

Probably one of the best surprises of the year from my husband, we had the best time watching it too. I was in years by the end it was so damn good! The Genie is absolutely incredible too! If you’re looking to see it, I would highly recommend!

7. Celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary at the spa

Paul and I have been married 4 years, and it has been one of the highlights of my life being his wife for 4 years – added bonus, he makes a great cuppa. However we did spend a night away with Red Letter Days* and it was so lovely, we chilled, ate amazing food, got cosy around some open fires and just lived our best lives.

8. Hit 10k on Twitter

Twitter has been one of my favourite platforms since I started and I’ve been so grateful, and just hitting 10k was something I was so proud of. It’s not about the number, it’s just the fact that those people took the time to hit that follow button. Corny I know.

9. Snow Days in March

Let’s be honest as kids a snow day was ridiculously exciting, and even though it was really annoying because we couldn’t get around as much as we would like, it was so gorgeous to have snowball fights with my husband. We don’t get snow very often – can you tell?

10. Putting myself first

Sounds so simple doesn’t it? Like you would automatically do it anyway, but I am one of those people that pretty much never says no, it’s my downfall, but this year, I’ve learned to say no a lot more. No to things for people who don’t support me, no to people who drain the life out of me and no to the people who don’t deserve my time and effort.

This year has definitely been a difficult one, it’s been filled with ups and downs, but I’ve made some amazing memories with the people I love – sometimes people come and sometimes people go, but it all happens for a reason.

I’ve been eternally grateful that this year has been an amazing one for my blog, I’ve worked with some of my favourite brands, been blessed enough to earn more money and I’m so grateful for that.

What amazing things have happened in your life this year?

You’ve achieved so much this year! I need to put myself first more in 2019, I spent most of this year putting work first. I’m a workaholic and its bad for my mental health but the Capricorn in me always needs to be active and making movements but I’ve cut down my work hours as a first step to not being a workaholic anymore.

I feel like I want to say ‘I survived’. Last year I spent so much time being ill and going back and forth to the hospital and sadly, I’ll be back to the hospital again on the 29th of January, 2 days before my birthday.

You had a really fab year by the looks of it though! Let’s hope 2019 is even better! 🙂
