Now I am the kind of person that plans everything down to the last detail, so when people ask, so what do you want to do in the next 10 years, and I’m kind of like huh? I can barely plan dinner tonight let alone what I want to do in 10 years time. I have a vague idea of where I want to be, what I want my life to look like, but I’m not the kind of person that has a rock solid plan that I know exactly how I’m going to get to where I want to be too!
I think it is mainly because life never ever goes to plan, I mean it is great having a plan, but then life gets in the way and it’s like oh my gosh, my plan is not going how I envisioned.
I turned 25 in August, and I think we live in a world where people expect you to know exactly what you want, where you want to be. I could easily say oh I want 2 cats, maybe another rabbit, a house, 1 holiday a year with my husband and that is the plan by the time I’m 28, but is it realistic? Probably not. I mean Paul and I will have been married 4 years this year, and people still ask oh when are you having children? I mean we have talked about it, but when the time is right we will have children. I’m only 25. There is no rush.
Life is always throwing us curveballs, and do you know what, I’d rather enjoy life as it comes! I didn’t expect to adopt a rabbit this year but I did, I fell in love with her and couldn’t leave her so I adopted her.
The thing is, you’re always changing, the things you want to do, the things you want to see and achieve. You’re learning new things, being introduced to new people you might want to go in a different direction so you have this whole plan to do one thing, and you go off in a different direction. Can sometimes be like my blog posts but you get what I’m trying to say to you.
I’m sick of people saying oh you need to have a plan, and yes in some parts of your life you do, I’m not saying I’m flying by the seat of my underwear and hoping for the best. I do have plans for some parts of my life, but I just want to enjoy it. I want to enjoy my life. Life is supposed to be exciting, it’s supposed to be fun and enjoyable and not only that there’s so much to look forward to, sometimes the best things aren’t planned.
I’m not the kind of person that likes to feel pressured into doing something so I am 100% ready to do things my way.
Do things exactly your own way.
What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

There definitely shouldn’t be a rush to do something by a certain age but that’s something I need constantly! x

It’s such a struggle isn’t it?! xxxx
I always used to have a plan of where I wanted my life to go and what I wanted to be doing by the age I am now but life seriously has not worked out that way! I find whenever you make a plan, several things come along to disrupt it so I just take each day as it comes now. Yes it’s good to have a rough idea of things you might want to try or where you think you want to be one day but things change all the time, we shouldn’t have to stick to one strict plan! Everyones journey is different and we’re allowed to change our minds! xx

A rough idea is okay, but you shouldn’t feel like you have to have it done in a certain time! xxxxx
There definitely shouldn’t be any rush or pressure to plan things, especially huge life decisions! We had Dougie before getting married, and now he’s a toddler I’m constantly being asked when we’re having another baby. There are so many things I know I want to do but I have no idea what is going to happen, whats around the corner, and I struggle when things DON’T go to plan, so often I find it better not to have too many set plans so i don’t get disappointed or anything!
Gorgeous photos by the way!

At the end of the day as long as you’re happy, that is literally all that matters! You shouldn’t feel like you have to be at a certain point in your life! xxxx
I love this post Amie! I’m exactly the same, I have no concrete plans for my life, I am just taking it one day at a time and enjoying the surprise! I think if we plan to much we just end up feeling disappointed if things don’t happen as we expect. I love the line: sometimes the best things aren’t planned. So true!! <3 xx

As long as you’re happy that is all that matters in life! Happiness is the main aim of life anyway! xxxx
I agree with you. I plan certain things – mostly tasks – until I am blue. But life events and such? How can I even presume that in three years I’ll still want to do that. Some of my new year’s goals are never met because by the end of the year it’s just not a priority any more. This is just life
Exactly, I have no knowledge of what is going to happen, as long as I’m happy, I’m going to take life as it comes! xxxx
This is a great post, I totally agree with what you’ve said, I’m a year younger than you and this definitely relates!

I’m so glad you relate my darling! xxxxx
I honestly wish I was much more like this, I’m quite obsessed with having plans and goals to reach by certain periods of my life and it really depresses me if I don’t reach my own expectations! I’m trying to go with the flow more, it’s just hard when you’ve kind of been programmed to be constantly working hard, though!

I know what you mean my darling, I’m just trying to not put pressure on myself any more or feel like I need to have extra pressure in my life when I really should just be enjoying whatever happens! xxxx
I totally agree, I don’t have a plan and I never have. I remember when I was at school and everyone was always asking ‘do you want to go to university’ and I was like…I don’t know. I literally decided last minute what I was doing and honestly, I have no problem with that. I don’t know what I’ll do once I leave uni but thats part of the fun right? Life is unpredictable and not everything can be set out!

I totally agree my darling, life is a journey and I’m 100% along for the ride! xxxxxx
I feel like this is a really important post. It can come across like there is so much pressure to have your life planned out, I turned 24 this year so I could of know the feeling! I feel like I’m similar to you, although I’m not married, but I have been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years now. I don’t really have much planned out at the moment, but I have ideas in my mind of things. It’s so true how we change all the time so I can just imagine how stressful things would be if you had everything planned out and it didn’t go how you thought!

Exactly, I just want to enjoy my life, it’s so good if you have goals and plans and you reach them, but the way I feel when I don’t reach them is the worst which is why I’m not planning my entire life out anymore! xxxx
So true lovely, it’s good to have an idea but no need to plan it all.

Exactly, you don’t need to plan it out, just enjoy life! xxxx
Loved this post, completely agree that you shouldn’t put pressure to have everything planned out because that’s just impossible! Thanks for sharing x
I totally agree, it’s just not physically possible! xxxx
I actually suck at going with the flow. I wish I could relax about things a bit more, but I always have a plan that I want to stick to! xx

That is amazing if you can do that my darling! xxxxx
I hate the expectations that we have to have done certain things by a certain age – it’s utter rubbish! I had a whole plan when I was in school but then anxiety hit me and it went entirely down the drain. Since then, I’ve pretty much been winging it haha! 🙂 x
There is nothing wrong with that, we are all different and different things work for different people! xxxx
I adore this blog post so much lovely. I realised this year that things can change so quickly that even if you do plan things sometimes it doesn’t work out the way you want them to do so anyway. I do plan things in my life but I am learnt to make goals instead of making solid plans. Great blog post beautiful, 💜✨

I totally agree, there is no point in having solid plans because life is always throwing me curve balls! xxxx
This year has been so tough for me, mostly because I had a plan in my head, and it just didn’t work out. But hopefully next year will be a better year,.
I really hope next year is an amazing year for you my darling! xxxx
I’m 47 and have never had a plan EVER for my life. I’ve just kinda rolled with the punches as they say. You know yourself when it’s the right time for something like buying a house, getting married or having children. I don’t know why people have to assume if you get married, kids should come along in the next 12 months. In fact, I did everything backwards, I had a baby, then moved in and then got married after we’d had our second son. There is no right or wrong and I think not planning your life out is far more adventurous. 🙂

Sometimes you’ve just got to roll with those punches and enjoy the ride! Curve balls happen, life takes different turns but as long as you’re happy that literally is all that matters! xxxxx
All the best laid plans and all that – don’t plan too far as like you say: curveballs happen and you need to move with them x
I totally agree my darling! xxxxxx
mate we are alllll winging it!!
Rosie
Amen to that my darling! xxxx
I don’t have my planned out either! I’m 23 and don’t have a job, haven’t moved out and don’t have a partner so by society’s standards, I’m failing miserably! But I don’t care, as long as I’M happy with how my life is going.

As long as you’re happy that is literally all that matters my darling! You don’t have to be a certain point in your life, just be happy! xxx
I agree, I’m 29 with no plan and keep getting asked about children!! Xx
It’s such a personal thing too, it’s 100% down to you if and when you decide to have children! xxxx
December well & truly threw me through a loop & well I know realise how little I can plan my life out
I hope you’re okay my lovely! xxx
