The colder months are definitely upon us, I’ve dragged out all my fluffy jumpers, I’ve got my cosy socks at the ready and like I’ve said in my previous posts I’ve become BFF’s with my duvet again. The thing about the colder months that gets me the most is the fact that it gets dark so damn quickly, I mean before we know it, it will be getting dark at about 4:30 and I’m not 100% prepared for that, however there are things that I do during the colder months to make it a bit easier! Want my tips?
1. Take Care Of Your Skin
Skincare is so important in my life, I actually spoke about this on Wednesday including all what I am currently using to keep my skin in check (if you have combination skin then you need to read it here but even if you don’t there are lots of amazing products in it!) During the colder months especially my skin really does react and having a good routine really helps to make a massive difference.
2. Cosy PJ’s
Anyone else love coming home and being able to put your pj’s on, and even better if you’ve put them on the radiator and they’re all warm and cosy? I mean it’s one of the best feelings ever, and especially if you’ve just got home, you’re soaked, you’re cold, getting into your pj’s that are all warm and toasty, it’s such a lovely feeling!
3. Scented Candles
I find that burning candles make the world of difference, especially during the colder months, not only do they smell amazing, I personally find them so calming especially after a long day. I need all the calming and relaxing vibes after a long day!
4. Bake Some Of Your Favourite Treats
Baking is one of my favourite things to do in the world, and having delicious comfort food around always makes me smile – especially if it comes in the form of a cake, brownie or a cookie. One of my families favourites is my Easy Triple Chocolate Brownies so if you fancy making these over the weekend, it’s a really easy recipe and the brownies taste so good!
5. Curl Up On The Sofa With A Duvet & Netflix
Sofa + duvet + Netflix = the best combination ever. Sometimes the best plans are when you don’t do anything but binge watch your favourite programmes, chill out and forget the world! If you need any recommendations I have a whole post here!
6. Take A Long Bubble Bath
Let’s be honest a hot bath with a bath bomb is one of the most amazing things, especially when the bath bomb makes all these gorgeous colours and makes you feel so cosy. For added pampering, put some candles on, use a hair mask and treat yourself!
7. Turn Your Phone Off And Re-Read Your Favourite Book
Some of my favourite books I love to give a little re-read – personal favourites like Harry Potter (even the films are perfect for Autumn/Winter) and some of my favourite thrillers are perfect to re-read. Even though you know what happens, immersing yourself in a good book makes the world of difference!
8. Go Out For A Walk & Take Some Photos
My husband love going out for walks, we have nature reserves and country parks near us, so we are spoilt, so going out and getting some fresh air really helps us. I also love to take my camera, especially during Autumn because the leaves are such gorgeous colours, I’m embracing the season and all the gorgeous colours that it treats us to!

Mine are definitely duvet days & Netflix! I like to do a whole pamper session and just take my time. You know, do my eyebrows, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, then my whole skincare routine, plus use my Sensica Sensilift too. I usually do all that whilst watching a film or binging a TV show! 🙂 It’s total bliss for me! 😀 x
Duvet days with Netflix are the absolute best! xxx
Taking care of your skin is so important in Winter isn’t it, mine is seriously playing up at the moment! I need a proper self care evening with all of my skincare favourites. Lovely post xx

I love these self-care ideas! YES on taking care of your skin. The weather made a shift and we need to adjust our routine so our skin is moist and clean. I love the idea of a bubble bath. YES on turning off your phone as well. We need a good digital detox regularly. Thanks for sharing!

skincar in winter is so important!!

I totally agree! Especially with the colder weather! xxxx
That first point about skincare is so true! I have quite dry skin but I’m forgetful and often neglect it, but tonight I made the effort with moisturiser n stuff and I feel so much better for it. I feel like self care at this time of year is even more important, since with it being cold and gross outside it’s so easy to have mental health hits. Thanks for the tips 🙂

Try your best not to neglect your skin my darling! xxxxx
Reading this blog post made me feel all warm and cosy!!! I need to make sure I give myself the time to do these things this winter because even though they are small, they really do make you feel better. I have always wanted to re-read one of my favourite books, maybe it is time I do so! I love putting on warm pjs, that reminded me of when I used to put my school tights on the radiator before school to make my legs warm haha! Great post xx

Since autumn started, I have been full into baking and I have loved it! I think my main issue would be my skin, that needs more care!

Great post as always Amie! I especially take my skincare more seriously during winter as it’s so cold and my skin always feels so dry, so moisturising is so important. I live in cosy pjs all year round but especially during the colder months. Who doesn’t love a nice set? Thanks for sharing xx
It’s so important to look after your skin in the colder months because your skin suffers so much! xxxx
Cosy PJ’s are my favourite things, that, and fluffy socks! It’s really good too to kick back with a book and step away from the social media madness and all things technology for a little while.
