6 Happy Things From Last Week

So last week probably wasn’t the greatest week if I’m totally honest, it was a rough week, especially because I have been ridiculously ill, but there were still some wonderful things that happened regardless of the fact that I was ill. We are also one step closer to Autumn, there is a chill in the air, leaves are starting to turn, the nights are drawing in, and I’m so ready to grab all the candles and enjoy the best few months of the entire year! So what are some of the loveliest things that happened this week?

1. Harry Potter

Paul and I have continued our binge watch of Harry Potter – on Sunday we started the Half Blood Prince got half way through and almost fell asleep I was so tired, but I forgot how much I enjoyed just curling up in bed, watching a film, without sweating so much, it was a nice chilled time for me and I loved every moment!

2. Farm Shop Shopping

Now I’m very lucky that in my area we have a lot of farm shops that sell local and delicious fresh fruit and vegetables, and on Thursday I went to the farm shop with my in laws and got lots of delicious fresh veggies – including something for my rabbit BB-8 and I made the most delicious chips in the entire world. I mean holy crap they tasted amazing. You can always tell the difference in my opinion.

3. Costa Coffee

If you didn’t see on Thursday I also went to get a coffee, probably wasn’t the best idea but I love my coffee, I can’t live without my coffee and it was such a good coffee, but if you’re wondering if I had a pumpkin spice latte – no I didn’t. I’m allergic to cinnamon so I cant have one.

4. Listening to the rain while reading a book

Even though I’ve been ill, last week it poured down with rain, I laid in bed, opened my book and just appreciated the rain and being curled up with a good book. It was such a small thing but the small thins in life mean the absolute world. Listening to the rain is one of my favourite things, and that smell after the rain, oh my gosh it is so refreshing!

5. Roast dinners

My husband makes the best roast dinner and oh em gee, on Sunday it is 100% perfection. I’m all about the delicious food and the thing is a roast dinner on a Sunday is my favourite thing in the world, I mean carb me up, give me all the potatoes, a mountain of veggies then sign me up for all the roast dinners.

6. New books

I got some new books for my birthday and honestly I’ve been loving them so much! I always ask for books, books are my favourite things, and my step dad really knows how much I love them and came through for my birthday! So far I’ve been really getting into He Said She Said by Erin Kelly – Thank you to Kirsty Ralph for the recommendation! The book is so good, and I have lots more to get through too!

What wonderful thigns happened to you this week? Let me know in the comments!

  • I love reading posts like this. It just shows that even while the week may not have been great, you can appreciate the little things and it makes things so much better. I love a good Costa, too, although I cannot stand coffee myself, which is weird because I love the smell! I love their coolers, though, and easily spent £100 last year, when the college I went to decided to build a costa in reception. It’s like my kryptonite!

I am also so excited for Autumn, right now by me the weather is a bit of summer with a pinch of a little breeze so I can’t wait until its officially autumn, can’t wait to wear my sweaters and make myself some hot chocolate as we get closer to winter!

Binge watching Harry Potter is one of my favorite things to do, especially in the winter when there’s a marathon of it! That’s amazing that you live by local farm shops, nothing is better than fresh fruit/vegetables!

I love reading when it’s raining too, it’s just so relaxing! Not sure if you heard about the Blogger’s Book Club with @thehelsproject on twitter but if not, you should definitely check it out, we read a book for the month and discuss it!

It must drive my poor husband mad, but it’s my favourite thing. Also hell yes to the roast dinners! I am loving that it’s getting colder so I can find excuses to have them all the time haha, for sure my favourite meal!
