What Does It Mean To Be A Blogger?

Blogging is literally so diverse, when I talk about blogging I’m ridiculously passionate about it but not only that, I get a chance to share my thoughts on things I love online, I share my life, my thoughts, my feelings but not only that put my heart and soul out there. People who aren’t part of blogging don’t necessarily understand what it means to be a blogger, what it all entails and how hard it is.

So what does it genuinely mean to be a blogger?

Over the last 3 years the landscape of blogging has changed so much, not so much in a bad way, but it has just changed.

There are so many new bloggers taking it up everyday that it genuinely makes me so proud to be part of the blogging world. The fact that there more bloggers means that blogging is still growing. I actually wrote a post not so long ago about blogging & why isn’t a dying art because it isn’t! Blogging has so much more let to give and offer the world – I couldn’t be more excited to see what happens.

Blogging isn’t just about writing a few blog posts, there is so much that comes along with it.

You have to fix broken links, be the photographer, SEO (yes not my best friend ever) managing a load of social platforms, promoting the blog posts that you actually write, being an accountant for all the collaborations, I mean there is a lot.

When you see a blog post, you don’t see all of the stuff that goes on behind the scenes, include the 300 photos of exactly the same thing just from different angles, tears and stress trying to make sure it is as perfect as you can make it.

So much goes into a blog post and so much goes on behind the scenes that you can’t see, but it is all worth it.
So what does it honestly mean to be a blogger? To me blogging is my form of therapy in all honesty. It is a way for me to be able to share my all my thoughts and feelings out there, but not only that even on my bad days, I can look back at everything I have achieved, all the blog posts I have written and it gives me some serious comfort.

Blogging isn’t all about brand collaborations, I know that a lot of people think oh it’s free stuff it is 100% not. It is about sharing a piece of your life online, having a safe space to talk about things you love, your thoughts and feelings. These are the things that are important.

Blogging is 100% what you make it, but blogging is hard, but being a blogger means that you have to keep pushing yourself, pushing your boundaries & making your voice heard in a sea of incredible bloggers.

Above all, being a blogger is one of the best things to happen to me. A space where I can literally just be me. I’d literally recommend blogging to anyone. Have fun, be yourself, share your content and meet some new people!

Love this post! And it’s so true, people don’t realise how much hard work it is. And I feel like it’s one of the only professions that people think “well, anyone could do that!” There needs to be a lot more respect given to the industry for sure.
