Now I wrote my post the other day on why blogging has a special place in my heart, and I got an email saying do I think blogging is dying. I thought, what, say what now? That actually got me thinking, now I’ve seen a lot of the people who I follow on Twitter talk about the demise of blogging, and I’m like are they sure? Are they actually for real? Now I’ve been blogging for over 3 years now and had a blog of some kind for about 7 I wanna say and I’m confused.
I always see people talking about vlogging and YouTube and with the announcement of IGTV people are like ohh what does that mean for YouTube – does that mean people are going to watch it less? I mean probably not, I still watch a lot of YouTube because I find it motivating – basically to buy more make up. Thank you very much Nikkie Tutorials.
But it’s got me thinking, why are people assuming that blogging is on the outs? Personally over the last 6 months, I’ve had the best views ever, my blog has gone from strength to strength and I personally think that my writing has improved too. I mean that is just me, I can’t speak for anyone else, but in terms of my own personal situation, things are pretty peachy keen jelly bean. Sorry for the Grease reference.
I know that blogging is a whole thing which includes social media but Instagram is a pain, I’m just trying to enjoy creating and I’m applying it to everything that I do which includes writing.
I started blogging because it was a safe space for me to talk about anything and everything, and I think that is what made a lot of people start. People want to talk about the things they love with people who have similar interests, who want to share their stories to help others. I mean they are of the reasons I adore blogging.
Every social media has it’s draw backs, Instagram’s is the fact that it’s Instagram and doesn’t like being friends with it’s users but on my blog I can be me, it is literally me, myself and my content. I mean regardless of what I have to say, I know that my blog is a safe spot, I’m not going to be censored for being me.
So is blogging really on the outs? Personally I don’t think so! So many incredible bloggers are still getting to work with huge brands on big campaigns, working with them on reviews, in ad campaigns I mean you name it, blogging influencers are still around and I think they will be for a while.
If you think about how far blogging has come over the last 10 years, don’t you think we still have a lot more to give. There are millions of blog posts being written everyday, there are people who work tireless on their content and everything that comes with being a blogger. I don’t think it’s time that we cancelled our blogs and said goodbye.
If you missed the post the other day that sparked this post you can read it here. Blogging will always be incredibly special to me, doesn’t mean that I’m going anywhere just yet, I’m enjoy creating my own online world and writing. It gives me life.
What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Very well said Amie! Really enjoyed reading this as someone also said the same thing to me the other day. I think blogging will stay alive for as long as us bloggers keep creating! Thank you for sharing and always being an inspiration 💖 xx

Exactly, the only way blogging will be on the demise is if we stop creating incredible blog posts! xxxxx
I’m really torn with the blogosphere at the moment. One side of me thinks that blogging is still alive and kicking, but I can’t help but notice that things have changed, especially the community element of it. I do think though that blogging is here to stay, although the way we blog may change! xx
Jessie | allthingsbeautiful-x
I know what you mean, there used to be amazing blog chats every night and they have gone. I think we need to try and create a community feel and keep creating the incredible blog posts xxxx
Blogging is the best, loved this post! It’s only going to die if we let it, agree x
Thank you so much angel! I totally agree, the only way it’s going to die is if we stop creating. We can do this! xxxx
I completely get what you mean, and I agree that as long as we all keep creating great content – blogging won’t be going anywhere!
Love, Becky x
Exactly, blogging is one of the best outlets and the more we create the more it keeps blogging going! xxxxx
Well said. I often get in a rut with blogging and want to give up at times but then remember how far I have come x
Exactly and we all started blogging for a reason, sometimes we all need a break but it’s important to never give up! xxxx
I adore what you’ve said and can relate to you so much. I personally adore blogging and even though I struggle sometimes I would never give it up 🌸✨
With love, Alisha Valerie x | AlishaValerie.com
I think if I gave it up I’d be lost without it! xxxx
I can see why people are saying it and at times I sort of agree. Blogging isn’t what it was when I started almost three years ago but it’s evolving like it should. Perfectly written girl!
I think the same, but I think if we give up with it, it will be such a sad day! xxxx
I don’t think blogging is going anywhere, I never understand why I see some people saying this on twitter – but that’s their experience I guess x
http://www.ofbeautyandnothingness.co.uk
I totally agree, I understand people have different experiences, but I personally believe that blogging has much more to give! xxxx
I feel the exact same my views are up! I think it’s more about how much you invest in it
Exactly, blogging is so hard, but I think just keep going with it and enjoy it! It’s so much fun! xxxx
Perfect, as always! I think it’s especially good for new bloggers to read this because you’ve been doing it for long and if you still believe in it, then it’s a great time to start!
Thank you so much my darling! I think so many people should start blogging, it has given me so much! xxxx
Blogging definitely isn’t on the out! I’m seeing so many bloggers killing it at the moment and I’ve had some of my best months for income and views lately. Blogging is what you make it 🙂
Exactly! Blogging is hard but if you want it to work for you, it will! xxxx
completely agree with you, its not on the way out, its still a huge thing and popular than ever!
Exactly, so many people are starting blogs – it’s incredible! xxxx
I definitely don’t think that blogging is a dying art! For me it’s just growing and growing and I think it will eventually replace a lot of traditional media!
Shauna | https://goddessguide.co.uk
Exactly, I think the same as it is just growing so quickly and has so much to offer! xxxxx
I don’t think blogging is dead at all! I think it gives social media some backbone too!
Amen to that my darling! xxxx
Social media definitely has its ups and downs. Especially downs… but, your blog will never go “out of style.” It’s your home on the internet and you can make it whatever you want. I love that about blogging!
Exactly, it’s your space to talk about whatever you want! xxxx
The blogging industry can just be as toxic as any at times but theres also so many amazing bloggers out there and personally I think the community is strong and just because it may not be as popular as Youtube, I definitely do not think it is dying, it just doesn’t intrigue as many people. Really enjoyed this post, really got me thinking about the community.

Thank you so much my lovely, I think blogging has changed so much since it started, and it definitely isn’t as popular as YouTube, but blogging has it’s own space, and that is what is important! xxx
I really don’t think that blogging is a dying art at all, I just think that like anything, it’s evolving and you need to evolve with it to keep up x
Exactly, blogging is always changing, it is hard work that gets you where you want to be! xxxx
I definitely don’t think blogging is on its way out! I think it adapts with time, but people are always going to want to share their thoughts and ideas. I mean, social media itself is a kind of micro-blog. We just have to keep doing our thing and adjust if we must. Oh, and your hate for Instagram is so relatable; it’s seriously the hardest platform for me to grow.
Exactly, blogging is always changing, but like anything we adapt to it. It would be sad if blogging didn’t change and it just stayed the same all the time. It progresses and improves, just like we do! xxx
Well said! I totally agree. I’ve dipped in and out of blogging for maybe…5 years, and really focussed on this blog for almost 3 years now, and I’m so grateful I did. I’m still learning and growing as I think so many people are, and I’m still enjoying it, which I think is the main thing. I love discovering new blogs and I’m so happy I have met some incredible people who I can talk to about blogging and who understand when I want to show them an Instagram preview or get them to proof read a blog for me. I absolutely don’t think it’s dying, I think it’s evolving and is maybe harder now than before as it comes with so much, ie extra platforms, competition etc but that should be extra motivation and make it even more worthwhile!

Exactly, blogging is incredible, but your hard work will pay off in the end and that is what is important! xxxx
So well said and written. I love to sit and read some new posts and engage with bloggers. I get things are becoming more visual with the video side of it but I don’t see myself going down that path.
http://littlemissmelanie.com
Thank you so much darling, I am the same my lovely, I don’t think personally I’d be very good on the video side of things! xxxx
Totally agree, lovely. I think blogging is the full package and as a blogger I find it so rewarding to look back and see what I’ve created. Whether people read it or not I love blogging 🙂 It’s definitely not a dying art.
Sincerely, Sarah xx

Exactly, as long as you keep creating, blogging is still going! xxxx
I don’t think I could ever stop blogging! I use it as a way for me to follow a hobby that I otherwise couldn’t do x
It’s such an amazing outlet, I love it so much! xxxx
I really enjoy blogging and I don’t feel it is dying either, I’d say the opposite, though I do feel the community has changed for the worse. Even in the 2 years I have been blogging, I have noticed quite a difference. Which is a shame.
I’m so glad that I’m not alone! Blogging is like anything in life, always changing but it’s important to keep going and keep creating! xxxx
I don’t think it’s a dying art at all – if anything, more and more people are joining the fold. I completely disagree with the person who sent you that!
Amy | hookedonthemusic.com
Exactly, blogging still has so much to offer and that is one of the best things! xxxxx
You got me thinking I think many bloggers are losing their motivation due to the infamous algorithm, traffic (?) and not getting sponsored but blogging will not die since every day there is a new blogger uploading a new content (and veteran bloggers). Blogging can be frustrating thinking “what should I post on the x y z day?”. Blogging should be fun and I think it’s beautiful many bloggers talking about a product, giving tips and just being super friendly overall.

I totally agree my darling! I think the whole landscape is changing and we all need to just keep doing what we love! xxxx
Agreed! Not only do I still love creating content for my own blog, but I still religiously read the blogs I love daily! Instagram is frustrating and, in my opinion, does not provide nearly the same level of satisfaction!
I don’t think blogging is on the way out at all either. Often people who say that never read any or have heavy assumptions about what it’s all about. Love your site!
