Advice is everywhere isn’t it? Whether it is online, from your family, from your friends and even from strangers. I mean it’s pretty much everywhere. But those little pieces of advice can give us comfort, can give us hope, can make us feel so much better and I’m all for that. Over the years, especially when I went through the most difficult time with my mental health, I got some amazing advice that reminded me that I could get through anything and that it would all be okay. What was that advice?
1. The sky’s the limit, it’s there for you to reach, but you need to work for it
When my mental health was bad, I started my blog, it gave me an outlet, blogging has literally given me so much and I’m beyond grateful for that. It has been hard work getting my blog to where it is today, there has been tears, long hours, worries about if it will be good enough and just overall an emotional time but do you know what it was all worth it! Every worry, every struggle, seeing where my blog is now, I’m beyond grateful.
2. Life is a marathon not a sprint, don’t rush yourself
I’ve always been in a rush to grow up even as a kid, but everything takes time. Like with my mental health struggle, it took a while for me to get to where I am now, no longer on medication, pushing myself yet still knowing when it’s too much, but I’m so happy to be where I am right now. Everything takes time, everything will work out in the end and the best things in life are worth waiting for.
3. The person who never made a mistake, never made anything
My grandad actually gave me this piece of advice and it is so true. I’ve made so many mistakes in my life, but those mistakes have really shaped me into the person I am today, they have made me stronger, they have made me realise the person I want to be. Mistakes make you human, everyone makes them and do you know what, it’s okay! Don’t feel bad for making a mistake, admit it and move on.
4. There are no stumbling blocks in life – just stepping stones in disguise
My grandad has the best advice, I’m not gonna lie. He gave me this one too. Sometimes you trip, you fall, but you get back up. Sometimes you stumble, and sometimes you fall, but everything happens for a reason. Those moments teach you so much, they teach you to get back up and keep going.
5. Prioritising your happiness is one of the best things you can do
I have to admit, I’m still very guilty of not doing this often enough, but your happiness is so important. Regardless of what anyone thinks, what anyone does, your happiness is the most important thing in the world. You can work hard, play hard, but remember to prioritise what makes you happy in life too.
What are some of the best pieces of advice you ever took?

Such great pieces of advice!
Thank you my lovely! xxxx
I probably sound like a broken record but, as always, I love this! I agree about mistakes – I used to give myself such a hard time about the things in my life which didn’t work out like I wanted them to, but I’ve come to realise they all got me to where I am. While not everything is where I want it to be, my life is pretty good and I have to be thankful for that!
Also, I completely agree about happiness. It’s something I need to get better at, too, but at least we are aware of that. Got to start somewhere!
I totally agree with everything you’ve said my lovely! Small steps in the right direction is 100% necessary! xxxx
These are all great life lessons! I especially like the one about making mistakes 🙂
We all make mistakes and it is a natural part of life! xxxxx
this post is so refreshing to read.
Thank you so much my lovely! xxxx
Ooh loved this! Making mistakes is fine, as long as you learn from them x
Exactly, you need to learn from them as that is what helps you to grow! xxxxx
I agree with number 4 the most! Things are out to test you, deffo xx
Life is definitely there to test you! xxxxx
I think if we don’t make mistakes, we don’t grow. It’s how we learn from the get-go, even as a child. Great read! x
Thank you so much my lovely! xxxxx
I’m never one to follow advice or give it too much but I need to follow these x

I think they’re so important! xxxx
the second one is so important to practice – hard, but important! I’m definitely guilty of trying to do everything at once and of trying to rush because everyone else is at a further point than me. it’s not a race, and we all have our own pace to set 🙂
The ecoLogical
Exactly, doing things at your own pace is so important and not worrying about everyone else! xxxx
Aw my favorite is the making mistakes one – I definitely have a fear of making mistakes that I need to get over, because mistakes just mean I’m doing challenging things, trying new things!! I love how positive this post is 🙂

Thank you so much my darling! xxxx
I always need to remind myself of the ‘life’s a marathon not a sprint’ quote. I’m always ready for the next thing and at risk of missing the moment 🙂

I still need to be reminded of that sometimes, even though I took that advice on board, it’s all a learning curve! xxxx
