We live lives where it doesn’t actually stop, even when we’re at home, we have social media at the tap of an app, 24 hour news on about 15 different channels, our lives don’t actually turn off. Even when we’re sleeping we end up thinking about what is going to happen tomorrow, what we are going to do, we need a remote control to find the off switch for everything in our lives. I have spoken quite a lot about the fact that over the last few months, especially with my blog it has been nonstop, so this post is a bit of a learning curve even for me.
So why it is so important to relax?
Relaxing gives us a chance to recharge those batteries that get severely depleted through day to day life, we are always going at like 200 miles an hour through our lives, we are like hurricanes that never stop spinning. Caffeine and large bottles of water normally keep me going throughout the day to be quite honest, always need to tick things off my to do lists.
I am always in need of some serious relaxation, I mean I think one day I’m gonna need a just an entire spa weekend just to chill out.
So what are the best ways to chill out?
We all have our favourite ways, I know I do, personally curled up next to my husband with a good book or playing a computer game (Sims or Skyrim obviously) are my personal favourites, but you always have to do what is best for you.
Not only that I have talked a lot about getting away from social media (if you missed that post it’s here in all it’s social media glory) because I genuinely believe that social media can put a lot of pressure on anyone. I mean seriously, we can be away from social media for a few hours and you can miss so much, I genuinely can’t believe how much I miss in the space of a few hours.
By taking time of social media, it allows us to have a better perspective on life, not living our lives through a phone is probably one of the best things we could do. Don’t get me wrong I love social media, but it’s a bubble, we don’t always share everything, whether it is just the happy aspects, but it’s not always the bad.
We can always benefit by taking time off, just to recharge, rest our minds, give ourselves time away from the busy lives that we live. We need rest, relaxation, and all of the above.
What are your favourite ways to relax? Let me know, might help someone!
