Auumn is basically right around the corner, I’m pretty much ready for pumpkin patches, seasonal coffee – I dare anyone to say that the last 4 – 5 months of the year aren’t the best. It is the time of year that I genuinely look forward to the most, it is my husband’s birthday, our wedding anniversary and unlimited blankets, I mean it is one of the most exciting times in the year. The colder months can be difficult for me, mainly because I struggle with the shorter days, but here is how I look after myself.
1. Fairy lights are everything
I put fairy lights everywhere, I find that having lights everywhere makes it really cosy and makes the world of difference. Seeing the lights twinkling while being curled up wrapped up in blankets, and it helps to brighten up those dark nights. It also makes me feel like I’m sitting under the stars, which is the best feeling.
2. Get your cosy on
I love all the cosy vibes, when it comes to autumnal scents, blankets everywhere, pillows everywhere and my extra special hot chocolate with salted caramel and vegan whipped cream. It is the drink of absolute dreams and it make you feel so bloody cosy inside that you’re ready to put a movie or and forget about the world.
3. Comfort food
When it comes to autumn, all of my favourite recipes come out to play including my vegan vegetable pies, stew, vegan shepherds pie, I mean I am definitely the kind of person that likes to have more carbohydrates in the colder months, especially if it comes in a shade of beige.
4. Re-read your favourite books
I have certain books that at read during the year, and Harry Potter is definitely the books that I read during the colder months. I think it is the fact that Hogwarts is genuinely one of the most magical places and those books make me feel all the cosy feels. I know Harry Potter is one of those books that a lot of people read during the colder months.
5. Pamper sessions
Pamper sessions are something I do all year long, however I feel like especially in the autumn/winter time that it is more essential. I love a nice hot bath, with candles, bath soaks, bubbles and a face mask. I also love to put essential oils everywhere, I find lavender so calming and helps me sleep to be honest.
6. Movie marathons
During the colder months of a weekend, I would genuinely love to just curl up in a duvet and watch movies or binge watch our favourite programmes all day. Having all of the snacks around you, getting all cosy and watching films and listening to the rain falling outside.
7. Go for a walk and watch the leaves change
There is something so perfect about watching the leaves change, seeing all the bright colours, of the leaves, it is perfect. I love walking through the woods when the weather is cooler and watching the leaves fall. There are so many gorgeous walks around where I live, I’m excited.
8. Autumn baking
There are definitely a few things on my baking list that are perfect for autumn, for example my favourite apple and blackberry crumble with Alpro custard – it is always a winner in my house. The smell of crumble cooking is one of the best scents ever, and you can always do with more pie or crumble in your life.

Yes to all of these! x
Thank you for the reminder. It has been a while since I read some books. I just went to the Fall Festival yesterday and saw free books which also brought back memories of just sitting down and reading a book. There is something about autumn that I truly like to see the leaves fall.
I love a big stew and dumplings during Autumn – perfect comfort food!
I am so excited for when the leaves get crunchy & we can spend time wandering around with our scarfs on!
I’m going to miss being at home in the UK for autumn so much as it’s my favourite season! Watching the leaves change, getting all cosy and eating all the yummy comfort food is my fave! X
Ah, I love this time of year! This is such a cute post and has me feeling all the Autumn vibes. I 100% agree about the fairy lights, seeing them twinkle makes everything seem so much cosier. My other go-to thing in the Autumn and Winter is a hot water bottle. Whenever I’m home I always have a hot water bottle with me!
I’ll definitely be doing all these in Autumn, especially watching the leaves change and baking!

Candles, crispy air, crunchy leaves, blankets.
It’s all so cozy, or hyggeligt as we say here in Denmark 🙂
