7 Things I Genuinely Don’t Care About Anymore & It Feels Amazing

Last weekend, I spent some quality time with my family in London, and during that time I got a chance to think and it gave me a bit of a refresh mentally. When you spend time with the people you love, it can put a different perspective on things, you can see things from a different viewpoint and it has literally made me feel so damn happy. Over the weekend though, I got to thinking about things that I genuinely don’t care about anymore – maybe it’s the experiences that I’ve had or maybe I’ve finally woken up?

1. Other People’s Opinions

Everyone has an opinion, and it doesn’t matter what it is, everyone seems to voice their opinion. Lately though being plus size people seem to shout their opinions from the rooftops on the way others look. I’ve had so much abuse over the years, even till the other week, and it is so hurtful, but do you know what? I don’t care about what other people think. Their opinion doesn’t matter and even though I have a lot of difficult days where I don’t feel confident or comfortable, the days I’m happy are all worth it.

2. Making Mistakes

Mistakes are human nature, they happen, and you learn from them. The most important thing is you continue to grow from making those mistakes, that is important. I don’t care if I make mistakes, it means that I’m trying to move forward and that is what is important for me.

3. Being Outside My Comfort Zone

I used to be absolutely terrified of being outside my comfort zone, it used to be something that made me so anxious, but now I genuinely want to push my boundaries, I want to push myself. I’ve noticed though that when I push myself it’s paying off. Now I’m not saying that everyday I get up and I’m like I’m gonna push myself out of my comfort zone, it’s just something that naturally happens.

4. Toxic People

I’ve spoken about this a lot on my blog over the last few weeks so I’m not going to go into massive amounts of detail on this, however if they’re bringing a tonne of negativity to your life, then you need to do what is best for your. Your happiness is greater than anything in this world & don’t let anyone tell you any different.

5. What if?

I’m definitely the kind of person that always used to say what if, what if this and what if that and use It as an excuse, when in reality I should just go for it. I don’t care about the what if’s anymore, as long as it isn’t hurting anyone, it isn’t hurting me or upsetting me, the most important thing is to not let anything stop me from achieving what I want.

6. Being Good Enough

I’m still that person that wonders if I’ll ever be good enough, whether what I do in this world means something, or if I’m good enough for the people. However over the last few weeks I’ve come to realise that I am good enough, the right people see that and understand that. Of course I’m good enough, I’m an amazing person and all that matters is the people who I adore know that. And the other people? Well they don’t know what they’re missing out on..

7. What I Don’t Have

Well it’s depressing when people say oh you don’t have this, you don’t have that. I’m the kind of person that focuses on what I do have. I have the most amazing husband, pets, family, good health I have food in my stomach and a roof over my head. I have all the important things in my life, and everything in my life, it’s great and as long as I have all of these, then nothing else matters.

What are some of the things that you don’t care about anymore? Let me know in the comments.

I LOVE this post! YES! When you don’t care about things that don’t matter, your quality of life jumps. What other people think, especially if they’re toxic people, doesn’t matter. You can’t have everything in life, so you might as well make the most of what you do have! I stopped caring about what other people think as well – they don’t dictate my life. Thanks for sharing!

If anything, mistakes are actually a positive thing – it’s only through mistakes and falling short that we learn how to better ourselves and grow, allowing us to achieve bigger and better!

  • Sarah says:

Yes, I love this post! I fully agree with all of these. These are all things we need to stop caring about. Getting rid of toxic people changed my life so much two years ago. I still need to work on the ‘what if’ thinking, but I’ve been making progress with that.
