A good mascara can get you anywhere. Mascara really does give me so much confidence, but there are a few that are on my regular rotation. The thing about mascara though, everyone has their favourite wand types, whether it’s a fibre wand or a plastic wand. In this post there is something for absolutely everyone!
Bite Beauty Upswing Full Volume Mascara
Bite Beauty is relatively new to the UK and I’ve heard so many good things. The mascara really does live up to the hype. This mascara is more of a chunky wand, and creates volume, definition, left and length.
I love this mascara so much because:
- it doesn’t flake
- washes off easily
- curls my lashes
- lengthens them
- easily buildable.
This mascara is £26, which is quite expensive, however it is easily buildable and leaves your lashes looking amazing.
I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t smudge either which is perfect for me.
E.L.F Big Mood Mascara
I am a huge fan of E.L.F. I’ve talked a lot about the brand and how amazing they are. This mascara is so lovely because you can buy it in your local Boots or Superdrug.
A few benefits of this mascara include:
- giving you a false lash effect
- creamy formula
- easy application
- buildable.
The other added bonus? It’s £7. If you’re looking for a high street mascara that is great on a budget then this is the one for you!
Bare Minerals Lashtopia Mascara
Bare Minerals do some of the most wonderful products. They promote clean beauty products, and I feel like that is incredibly important right now.
The wonderful thing about this mascara is it is:
- gluten free
- talc fre
- synthetic fragrance free
- tree nut free
- SLS free.
I love the way this mascara applies, it almost melts into the lashes giving you fluttery lashes while making sure your lashes are healthy and happy. It is also safe for contact lens wearers!
The price of this mascara is £21, so if you are looking for a clean mascara that gives you volume, you’ll love this one!
Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara
I’ve talked about this mascara before and I still love it after all this time.
I still love the way it makes my lashes look, it doesn’t go patchy throughout the day. It also doesn’t crumble once you’ve opened it. I’ve recently used mine up, but I truly can’t write a post without mentioning this mascara.
It gives you instant volume and fluttery lashes.
This mascara is a little more expensive though for £29, however, if you’re looking for a really dramatic lash look, you’ll love this.

Iconic London Triple Threat Mascara
This is one of the newer products in my collection and I love it! I never normally like a thinner wand, but this wand is smaller and I really enjoy it. The best bits about this mascara is:
- separates the lashes easily
- volumes
- doesn’t weigh down your lashes
- makes your lashes look full.
I picked this up from Boots and honestly it is one of the best decisions I made.
Iconic London Triple Threat Mascara, Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara, Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara.
Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara
Too Faced have always done some amazing products, but their mascaras are amazing. Their Better Than Sex mascara is still iconic, but I love this one more. The things I love about this one is:
- the chunkier wand
- the way it clings to my lashes
- doesn’t clump
- no smudging and flaking
- amazing curl.
This is another one you can pick up in Boots (winning!) and if you aren’t a fan of the really fluffy wand, the Better Than Sex mascara is less fluffy with the wand.
An honourable mention because I’ve run out is for the KVD Go Big or Go Home Mascara. The mascara is amazing and it is a thicker consistency and doesn’t crumble into my eyes!

I need to try the DAMN GIRL by Too Faced, I found better than sex to be quite good so I am sure I will love this one too!

I really love the BTS mascara from Too Faced, but like you say I do think the wand is a little clumpy. I’ve not heard of Damn Girl before, but I’ll be sure to remember it. It sounds fab! I’ve got two from Urban Decay which I’m getting through at the moment, DG sounds like it could be my next one though!
