6 Vegan Serums For Combination Skin

* Contains PR Samples

I’ve mentioned that I struggle with combination skin and finding skincare that works for me has become a mission for me over the last few years. Trying to find products that balance my skins needs can be hard work. So I’m sharing with you 6 of my favourite serums for combination skin, to keep the oil under control, hydrate the dry patches without making you look shiny, and keep those break outs at bay.

Dermalogica Smart Response Serum*

This is one of the latest releases from Dermalogica, and I’ve got to say I have a few thoughts on this serum already. I loved the way this serum melted into my skin, but also didn’t make my face look shiny or oily. I tend to get some redness on my face as well and I noticed that even the redness seemed to dull down.

The other bonus was it made my face feel like it had just had a facial! My face looks smoother and just more refreshed. This serum is on the pricier side, it is £130, however, you only need a tiny amount of the product for be able to massage it into your face.

Nip + Fab Salicylic Fix Serum Extreme

I saw this in Superdrug on offer and I thought why not give it a go, and it is really something I enjoy. I use this a lot when I get a lot of break outs, and it works wonders on my face! I can feel it working on my skin, not in a painful way, but I started to notice a massive difference in my t-zone. When I do use it, the amount of oil that is produced seems to be lower, and my skin feels incredibly clean.

It has also really helped with the dreaded maskne that I’ve been battling throughout lockdown! This serum costs £19.95, and it really does go such a long way, and I feel like it really helps to get the moisturiser deeper into my skin. Especially when it comes to my inflamed breakouts!

Dermalogica Age Bright Clearing Serum*

As you can tell I’m a massive fan of this serum and it has been well used! I am also pretty sure this is one of my favourite products from Dermalogica. This serum is incredible, with continued use I’ve noticed that my skin looks brighter and my breakouts are reduced. It doesn’t dry my skin out either, and any of the drier patches on my skin, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soothed.

If you’re looking for a new serum, that will really help your breakouts, but not irritate your dry skin, then you will love this serum! The serum is £65, and it is definitely worth the money, it has lasted me so long, I recommend it to everyone. Especially if you’re concerned about your skin ageing!

Tropic Pure Lagoon Serum*

I’ve talked so much about this serum and Tropic in general,  but this is one of those serums you cannot go wrong with! It is perfect if you have spot prone skin, even if it is stress breakouts or hormonal breakouts, this product will be your go to. It really helps to control the oil on your face but also leave your face feeling glowy or glass like. I always have a bottle in my fridge because I find it works wonders for me.

This serum is £42, but it will last you a while, and even if you don’t use it as a serum, I sometimes mix it in with my moisturiser just for a little extra!

Naturally Radiant Skin Perfecting Booster

I recently spoke about this in my glowing skincare routine for combination skin blog post, and it one of the most incredible products on a budget. I’ve spoken about the redness that I get on my skin, and it really does help to calm the redness, and also leave my skin looking glass like. It doesn’t even make my face look oily or shiny, it just looks like incredibly healthy skin! It is a win win situation!

This is another product that I tend to mix into my moisturiser if I need a bit more of a boost due to my breakouts. This serum is £6.99, and you can get it in Superdrug, in my opinion it is an absolute steal. Especially if you struggle with combination skin.

Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum

I bought this when it was in the sale, and it has definitely been an amazing serum to try. I love the way that this serum smelled, and left my face feeling incredibly hydrated. It also really helped to even out my skin tone on my forehead. It doesn’t leave your face feeling sticky after applying it or increase oil production and definitely makes your face feel plumped and refreshed.

Not only that is really gentle on the skin, and helps to work on those drier patches on my face. This serum is £37, which might sound expensive, but you do not need a lot of this product, and it really does melt into your skin with lots of benefits!

I’ve not heard of some of these brands! I have dry skin but they’re not for me but this reminded me I need to check out Dermalogica!

  • What’s the difference between a vegan serum and a regular serum, are animals products often used in these kinds of products?

  • These all sound great Amie! I’ve literally just ordered myself a new serum from Facetheory, it arrived yesterday, but I’ve not had chance to try it yet. I really love the sound of the Nip & Fab one too, I’ve tried a few of their products and never been disappointed. PS. Loving the new look on the blog (forgot to mention that in my last comment!)

I have heard of some of these but there are some brands I didn’t know about. I am changing all my skincare to cruelty free and vegan so this was a really helpful list. Thank you for sharing.
