6 Happy Things – Coffee, Cosy Blankets & December

If you have seen my tweets or read my blog lately you will know that it’s not been a great couple of weeks but I’m sitting down to write this mainly as a reminder that even when life gets tough there are still some amazing things that happen. Not only that the next couple of weeks are some of the most exciting, not just because it’s Christmas but it is also our 4th wedding anniversary! So lots of happy things, anyway what happy things have been happening over the last few weeks?

1. Spectrum Brushes

I treated myself the other day to some more Spectrum Brushes, I didn’t need any more brushes, but they were so gorgeous I couldn’t not buy them if I’m honest. They were also on offer in Boots at 3 for 2, so how could I turn down that offer? I got some of the mermaid brushes and they’re just so pretty. I literally can’t say enough amazing things about Spectrum, their brushes are amazing! Spectrum and Superdrug brushes are my go to brushes.

2. Coffee Dates With My Husband

Paul and I love to go for coffee on a Saturday morning, we can talk, have a cup of coffee, chill out and do a bit of shopping. We went for coffee the other weekend after I had my eyes tested and yes I am getting new specs, hopefully they will be here by the time this post goes live, so fingers crossed. Just going out for a cup of coffee honestly makes me so happy, and the fact that I can enjoy some seasonal coffee is probably one of the highlights.

3. Christmas Tree

Yes I’ve got my tree up, we have a new one this year, one that is a bit smaller, but thank God it holds all of my heavy baubles. We have so many that have such a strong meaning for my husband and I, especially the ones from when we got married. I was so excited to put it up this year, I was in the festive spirit and I honestly couldn’t wait. I’m no singing jingle bells or anything just yet, but I love Christmas.

4. New Cosy Blankets

Paul bought me a new fluffy teddy blanket, I mean I didn’t need another one, but blankets are an absolute must, they’re so cosy. He actually bought it as a cheer up surprise, and it really did work if I’m honest. It bought a massive smile to my face that I definitely needed.

5. December Is Here

Whenever December finally arrives I can finally get wrapping on Christmas presents and start watching Christmas films – I mean my personal favourite is It’s A Wonderful Life, and I really need to watch the Christmas series that is currently on Netflix. December arriving means it’s the most magical time of year.

6. Waitrose Vegan Range

I went to my Dad’s about 2 weeks ago and they have a massive Waitrose near them, so I pretty much went wild in the aisle (I watch way too much Supermarket Sweep) and bought quite a lot. The thing that I loved the most was the Spinach Ravioli, oh my gosh it is so good and so tasty! Also the chocolate tortes, they’re like little slices of chocolate heaven. Would 100% recommend if you’re near a Waitrose or you can get them on Ocado!

  • I’m loving coffee dates with my partner at the moment. I’ve always moaned that I can’t balance all the reading I want to do with all the time I want to spend with him, so we each bring a book and walk to a little independent coffee shop somewhere and chill out reading together. It’s such a lovely bit of time spent together.

What a warm, cosy post. I love Spectrum brushes, I also treated myself to a new set in the Black Friday sales with an amazing discount. It’s an absolute must that a new fluffy blanket is bought every Autumn Winter to snuggle up in and watch Netflix. Coffee dates with my husband are the best kind.
