So we are just days away from the most magical time of the year, not only that it means that people will be rushing round trying to get those last minute presents and being a general busy little bee. Now There are lots of things that I plan to do on the run up to Christmas day, a lot of them tend to revolve around my family and my husband, because Christmas to me is all about family and giving something back. These are also somethings you could do too!
Baking all the sweet treats
I said to my Dad that this year I was going to be baking a few things to take up to his with us, now I already have the recipes down and tested all I need to do now is to just get baking. One thing my husband has requested again this year my gingerbread (recipe here) and it’s safe to say that my icing skills have improved since that post. So I will be making gingerbread again.
Curling up with Christmas films
Let’s be honest there is never enough time to just watch all the Christmas films known to man, but I try to do my best to give them all a chance. It is a tradition in my family that I watch It’s A Wonderful Life, my Nan and I watched it and now Paul and I watch it together every Christmas.
Battle with fairy lights
Now I have just done this with my mum’s tree and let’s be honest I spend more time getting them tangled up than I actually do putting them on the tree, but let’s be honest it’s all part of the Christmas fun, right?
Put some festive favourites into the food bank
My mum and I did a little shop for the food bank not so long ago and I intend on doing it again for Christmas and putting some festive favourites into the trolley. I know that so many people are struggling, now I’m not saying that I’m rolling in it, but I always like to give just a little something back. Everyone deserves a happy Christmas.
Put all the Christmas bedding on
Now I’ve already had Christmas bedding on since December 1st, however I plan on getting the Christmas blanket out, and my bedroom is literally going to look like all of Santa’s elves have decided to come over for a party.
Dance around to Christmas music
Whether you’re a Wizzard, Slade, Mariah or Wham fan, you cannot deny how catchy Christmas songs are and how necessary Christmas songs are. I end up turning up the volume, dancing around and singing at the top of my lungs. Well its Christmas so why not?
Stocking up on all the Christmas chocolate
Now as most people will know I’m rather partial to the Christmas chocolate, and let’s be honest, chocolate always tastes it’s best on Christmas day.
Spending time with family
Paul and I always switch around where we are at Christmas, this year we are at my Dad’s house, so I’m looking forward to spending lots of time with all my family including my mum and my in laws before we go. Family time at Christmas is so important to me!
