Lately I’ve been thinking about the changes I’m going to be making to my life, not because I’m unhappy with my life, honestly I’m so happy & lucky just in general with my life, but there are some ways in which I can improve. I’m the kind of person that lets the small things affect my life, when in reality they’re pretty insignificant. I know people say don’t sweat the small stuff, but unfortunately I cannot help it. So what changes am I going to be making?
1. Putting myself first
Lately where I have been so busy I haven’t actually not stopped, and I still have a busy few weeks left to go, but I am starting to say no more, saying yes to more positive aspects of my life and doing what is best for me!
2. Surrounding myself with positive influences
Someone on Twitter the other day shared a quote the other day about surrounding yourself with positive vibes and it touched a cord with me. It is so important to have positive people around you that make you smile and support you regardless. These are the people that you can rely on no matter!
3. Make time for self care more often
Like I said lately I’ve been way too busy, but over the weekend I managed to have a little self care moment, put a face mask on and chill. It was one of the most wonderful feelings being able to chill out like that, and it definitely reminded me how important it is to make that time for myself.
4. Take time away from social media
I actually wrote a whole blog post on this not so long ago (you can check it out here) and I’ve been sticking to it more and more. When you’re online so much it can be so overwhelming, I share a lot of my life online, the good, the bad and the ugly, because life isn’t a bed of roses, it isn’t easy and sometimes it is easier to show the good things rather than the bad. By taking time away from social media though I’m pursuing more of the things I enjoy and not just blogging, it’s such a fabulous feeling.
5. Keep a diary
I have a diary already but I think I’m going to get one for the new year where I write about everything I am thinking or feeling so I can learn to understand my emotions more on the good and bad days.
6. Meeting new people
The blogging world is filled with amazing people and not only that I have met some of my closest friends through blogging, and do you know what I’m eternally grateful for them! I’m definitely going to meet new people but also make time for my old friends too, it’s definitely about balance! I can keep my old friends and the new ones too!
7. Taking more time to be in the moment
When life is passing you by you don’t actually take a moment to appreciate what is going on around you, I know I definitely don’t. It can be the little things like laying in bed with someone you love and chilling out, or it could be laughing till your sides hurt with the people you love around you, either way it’s learning to appreciate that moment, those people who are around you and just enjoy every second.
8. Don’t let others affect your happiness
Your happiness is so important and you should never let anyone control the way you’re feeling or your emotions, I’ve learned that recently. The people who are impacting on your feelings are not worth it, if they’re having an impact on you negatively you need to cut them out of your life. Your happiness shouldn’t hinge on others.
