During the summer I have definitely noticed that I get more cravings, the whole ice cream on tap to keep you cool, it can be so easy sometimes to indulge a little more than normal. Cravings are something that I have to deal with everyday and honestly it doesn’t get easier, ever, especially if you are trying to lose weight and get healthy! So there are lots of different ways I deal with my cravings, are you ready to find out my cheat sheet to cravings?
1. Hydration
This is such a simple one to remember, however when you are not hydrated you end up feeling hungry when in reality your body is craving fluids. One thing that I do on a regular basis when drinking fluids is adding things like mint or cucumber, even fruits because it helps to deal with those sweet cravings you might be having.
2. Sleep
When I don’t get enough sleep I end up eating a lot more than I normally would which is honestly such a pain in the backside but it happens. Lack of sleep can honestly kick up some of those annoying cravings that you try so hard to get rid of. Make sure that you get at least 8 hours sleep a night!
3. Outwit those cravings
When you are trying to beat those cravings, what I do is eat something else, so for example if I am craving chocolate, I end up having some fruit like raspberries, strawberries or blueberries because they’re sweet. Or if you are craving sweets, I instead have frozen grapes because they’re sweet and they have the crunch that you want.
4. Workouts
Workouts have honestly been my saving grace, I workout on a regular basis and it helps me to stay on a healthy path, not only that it keeps in line my cravings. Not only that I sleep better when I workout and boost my energy levels!
5. Avoid trigger foods
I know it is easier said than done, however when you’re trying to beat those cravings for things like cupcakes and crisps don’t keep them in the house all the time. Buy them when it is a special occasion or something, but it will help to avoid all of those cravings that you were trying to deal with.
6. Having a little bit is okay
Say you’re wanting some chocolate, it is okay to have a couple of squares, having a little bit will help to train your willpower. It will teach yourself to know that you have a little bit and be satisfied and you will be able to have some at a later point. Once I have had a little bit, then I remind myself that the chocolate isn’t going anywhere and I can have some more at some point.

This was really helpful, I love the frozen grape idea. I’m terrible for snacking

Snacking I’m the worst at, however if we find things that we enjoy it helps in the long term!?
I actually like to allow myself having treats but after a walk. Very often I don’t even remember what I wanted so much 15 minutes before. Love, Iga x
I’m the same, I think it is important to treat yourself, it’s all about moderation!?
I love this! I have such terrible cravings, especially on evenings. One thing I need to try is more exercise!

I eat intuitively so I listen to my “cravings” and allow myself what I want/need. It’s literally changed my life.
That is so good darling! I think it is so important to listen to your cravings, but it’s also important to make sure you live a balanced lifestyle 🙂 <3
