Why You Should Start A New 2022 Diary

A daily diary or planner is so important in my everyday life, I feel like everyone needs one. It helps me to stay organised, it helps me to keep track of everything that I need to, but also it helps me to remember things.

If you’re the kind of person that struggles to keep up with everything going then a daily diary or planner is definitely the way to go. This year, instead of going for a Passion Planner I chose a My Pro Planner.

I used to absolutely love to bullet journal however, I feel like this combines the best of both worlds.

Why A Physical Planner?

Let’s be honest in a digital age, a physical planner definitely seems to have lost it’s appeal. But having a physical planner can have a tonne of benefits for your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

Helping to manage your anxiety

I’ve been very open and honest when it comes to my anxiety and my diary really helps to manage this. I can write down:

  • how my day has gone
  • important things to note
  • possible triggers with my mental health
  • how I’m feeling throughout the day.

A digital calendar doesn’t give me that personal experience. I can see the way my handwriting changes when I’m stressed and colour co-ordinate my meetings and things to do.

Helps remind you what is going on

Let’s be honest, we all move at 100 miles a minute so having something to remind you is important. I always colour co-ordinate my meetings and any birthdays so I can look at what is going on in my diary and know exactly what is going on.

Find a system that works for you though. Personally I’m all about colour co-ordination because it really does help me, and I feel like I have my life together.

It helps with procrastination

I am definitely the queen when it comes to procrastinating. If it is something I should be doing, I’d prefer to do anything but. My planner really helps me when it comes to needing

So first thing in the morning I’ll:

  • plan what I need to do
  • prioritise what is necessary
  • highlight what needs to be done first.

Gives me motivation

I am definitely he kind of person that needs some motivation, and within this diary they have lots of motivational quotes!

Both the Passion Planner and the Pro Planner have quotes within them, and I also add in a few so I can continue to practice my calligraphy.

So even if you want to create your own planner or bullet journal, you can see why you should purchase one.

Promotes creativity

I always feel more creative when using my planner. I can write down all of my ideas for blog posts, Instagram posts in my diary and allows me to explore all the ideas that are rattling around in my brain.

Diaries truly are incredible, and there are so many amazing options for all budgets.

Do you use a diary? Do you prefer digital or a physical diary?

I love the idea of a physical diary for writing lists etc but I’ve always bought cute ones and then never end up using them haha! Maybe 2022 will be the year I force myself into getting one!

I’m definitely missing a physical diary this year. I went out shopping just after Christmas but couldn’t find one I liked. This one you have looks lovely though, I should have looked online really.

I love my planner / diary system. I use both physical and digital (Google calendar) calendars for planning and tracking my time, as well as a physical journaling system where I track my moods, feelings, finances, etc. I love the system I use and how it’s helped me to create routines and walks me through manning my day/week/month/year.

Great post with wonderful points about why it’s so important to use a diary / planner. Thanks for sharing!
