Hi Amie,
What an excellent post! It doesn’t take much to make a positive difference to somebody’s day. And, I’m pleased to say that I already do the vast majority of these 🙂
I have had, on rare occasions, people take exception to having the door held open for them – “Are you implying that I can’t open the door for myself because I’m a woman?”. Sigh. “No. I just thought that you may struggle to get through with that massive chip on your shoulder!”. But on the whole, people are very appreciative.
I love these ideas Amie! I love how simple they are too. I quite often donate to food banks when doing the weekly shop. What’s a small difference to me could make a big difference to somebody else, which I suppose is the whole ethos behind spreading positivity. I really liked the survey example too. If I’m prompted to do something like that 9 times out of 10 I’ll do it, but I think searching for a way to leave feedback can be so valuable to the recipient.

These are all such great ideas! Smiling at strangers in public has proven to do so much good. You don’t know how that person might be feeling and your smile can make them feel good about themselves, I know that’s how I feel when someone smiles at me!
The simple things in life can sometimes have the most powerful impact. This is a great reminder that we don’t have to do big gestures or make things complicated when we want to put some positivity out into the world (which we always get back). Thanks for sharing this list — I’m going to make sure I do some of these today!
Amazing suggestions! A smile truly can go a long way, and I really love the idea of random acts of kindness – it’s such a wholesome idea! Thanks for sharing x
I love these!! Simple small gestures can mean so much and you might not even know that you’ve made someone’s day! Xx
Being positive and spreding that positivity could be something so simple as to offer a smile to a stranger! Reading your post I realized that I am a really positive person and I spread that positive energy around. These small reminders tou offered us in this post are precious! Thank you 🙂
Giving way to others at junctions always makes me feel like I’m an absolute saint haha! There’s nothing worse than being stuck in traffic.

I love this! It’s incredible the difference some of these can make to people (having worked in retail, I can vouch for being on the other side sometimes!). It makes you feel so much more positive as well as having the potential to make someone’s day. Great post.
Great ideas! I love the idea of just smiling at someone on the street. It can go a long way! I must say, I’m terrible at remembering people’s names – I must make a conscious effort to be better at that in the future. I also love random acts of kindness. I tend to give away things I’m not using instead of selling them, and all I ask is that the person receiving the item pays it forward and does something nice for someone else. I like to think that there’s a chain going on of people doing nice things for others 🙂
Really loved this blogpost! One thing I’ve always done since I was a kid, is smile at people. I think it’s a really positive and lovely way of making people smile themselves. I still at the age of 22 get a really warm feeling inside when people smile back at me. I also love the thought of random act of kindness, I think it’s a really lovely way of brightening someone’s day. You never know what people have got going on in their lives so making them feel happy, even if it’s for a short while, is something I love to do. Thank you so much for sharing! Xo
