10 Ways To Have The Ultimate Cosy Self Care Day

It is basically that time of year when I basically want to curl up in bed, with a good book and hide from the world – especially when the weather has been as horrid as it has. It has been cold, wet and grey outside, so the last thing I really want to be doing is basically going outside, getting soaked and looking like I’ve dipped my head in a puddle. So what are my ultimate tips on having the cosiest self care day known to man? I’ve got you covered.

Sleep in

When the weekend finally rolls around, the last thing I genuinely want is to have an alarm going off and waking me up. I want to be able to relax, wake up naturally and not feel like I have to rush about. I’m never about that life if I’m honest, and having a little longer in bed always makes me feel refreshed and ready to take on the world!

Turn Off Social Media

This one is definitely not for everyone, but being off social media can definitely make me relax even more. I’ve noticed where I’m not having as much time to be on social media due to work it does help my overall mental health. Sometimes I find being on it too much has the worst impact on my mental health so a break is always good.

Find A Good Book

I’ve mentioned that I have set myself a reading challenge for this year, I’m on book 7 of the year, and I have a total f 15 to read this year. If I keep going at the rate I am, I’ll be finished before March. I’ve read so many amazing books lately, and having my new Kindle, I’ve been taking it everywhere! You can add me on Goodreads and keep up with the books that I’m reading, I’m always interested to see what everyone else is reading too, I need inspiration!

Workouts

Now it might be the last thing you want to do, but I’ve found that workouts really help me just in general, but workouts are great for my mental health. It doesn’t need to be anything intensive,  like to cycle or do my yoga and that really helps  my overall wellbeing and that is what self care is all about.

Pamper Yourself

I really do love a good pamper session, sorting my skin out really does make me feel so much better and relaxes me. Having an amazing shower with the most luxurious products and makes me feel so relaxed.

Curl Up In Blankets

Blankets are always the ultimate cosy item, they make me feel so good and curling up with a blanket when it is raining outside warms me up and makes me so comfortable.

Give Yourself A Break

Self care is honestly about giving yourself a break too, and sometimes your mind is your own worst enemy, I know it is definitely mine. I always feel like I have to be busy, but in reality, my body needs to switch off sometimes, it needs a break, and time off. Don’t ever let it make you feel like you are anything less  than amazing – you can achieve everything.

Candles Everywhere

I’m a sucker for a candle that smells absolutely amazing. I find them to be so relaxing and I really love the way they can make the room smell amazing and calm me at the same time. As long as it doesn’t have cinnamon in it (I’m allergic) then we are all good!

Breathing Routines

On my Fitbit, I have an app that helps me to relax and practice breathing routines, and honestly it makes the world of difference, especially when I am having a high anxiety day. If you’re similar to me and struggle with anxiety, it really does help.

Indulge In Good Food

A day where you indulge in your favourite foods is good for you in moderation. Personally I absolutely adore pizza followed by my favourite ice creams after. They are the best and those are the kinds of foods that are good for the soul.
