5 Best Vegan Foundations Ever

Vegan foundations & finding one for my combination skin can be difficult. Especially because I’m picky. But there are so many amazing vegan and cruelty free brands out there it’s never been easier to find an amazing foundation.

Want to know the best bit? No matter what your budget, you can find the perfect vegan and cruelty free foundation.

So, what are my favourite foundations?

The Ordinary High Coverage Foundation

Remember when there was so much hype about The Ordinary? Well it’s been a while since I’ve seen people talking about them. I’ve used this foundation regularly for years now and honestly it works absolute wonders.

There are a few things that I really love about this foundation including:

  • price – it’s only £6.90 (absolute bargain!)
  • finish – has a more natural finish
  • coverage – evens out your uneven skin tone.

If you’re worried about a foundation giving you that ‘cakey’ feeling, then this foundation is perfect.

E.L.F Flawless Satin Foundation

My holy grail, forever love from E.L.F. I have raved about this brand a lot, and they truly are one of my favourites. This foundation is a semi-matte foundation, and is has multiple benefits. The benefits include:

  • price: £9, and has an amazing shade range
  • buildable: easily buildable without the cakey feeling
  • lightweight: doesn’t leave you feeling like it will block your pores
  • long lasting: doesn’t budge throughout the day.

As someone who has combination skin, it is really important to find a product that stays on my face. This foundation allows me to go about my day with the confidence that it won’t transfer! If you also get some really dry patches like me on your face, this foundation doesn’t cling to it.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

When Fenty Beauty launched in the UK I was definitely very excited. Mainly because of the number of shades in Rihanna’s range! This foundation really doesn’t disappoint either.

It didn’t take long for me to start enjoying this foundation. The things I love the most about this foundation include:

  • shade range: this range has 50 shades, and I think this really set the bar for brands
  • price: this is £38 however, I feel like you do get a lot of product for your money, and it is a glass bottle
  • finish: it’s a matte finish, but also helps blur pores.

This is also my perfect summer foundation, mainly because it is sweat and humidity resistant. Perfect for those hot days in the sunshine.

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Liquid Foundation

This was very much a treat myself foundation. It’s super high end but it is a really does give the loveliest finish on the skin.

The things I love about this foundation include:

  • shade: doesn’t oxidise on the skin
  • lightweight: even though it comes out the bottle quite thick, it feels light on the skin
  • finish: non drying and natural finish. Acts like a second skin leaving your face glowing
  • no primer needed: just hydrate and apply.

The price of this foundation is £51, so if you fancy treating yourself, I would definitely recommend this one!

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation

The final foundation I have for you is the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation. This really is one of the best full coverage foundations, mainly because of how well it does give you that even skin tone without cake face.

My favourite things about this foundation include:

  • shade range: they have 45 shades which is incredible!
  • price: for £15, I don’t think you can go wrong and you can pick it up at Boots
  • coverage: I have to admit the coverage is incredible on this foundation without feeling heavy
  • shine control: as someone with combination skin it does help to leave my skin looking mattified
  • finish: matte finish but comfortable and not drying.

An honourable mention for one of my other holy grails, but unfortunately I’ve finished it, Too Faced Born This Way. Too Faced Born This Way was the first high end foundation I bought and it truly is one of my favourites. It definitely will be the next high end foundation I buy.

And that is that for my favourite foundations, and I really feel like there is something for everyone regardless of budgets. If you’re like me and have combination skin that can also run on the dry side, then I think these foundations will work wonders.

What a fab selection. I really rate the Fenty Foundation. I’m sure the price has gone up though since it first came out, I’m sure I didn’t pay that much. I need to try the ordinary Foundation too. I’ve heard such great things! X

Thanks for sharing this! It’s nice to have a review about different foundations at different price points.

I very much like the sound of The Ordinary and ELF. I don’t tend to wear foundation these days, so spending a lot of money probably wouldn’t be worth it for the amount of use I’d get 🙂

Ooo you’ve shared some great foundations here lovely. I’ve only tried the ordinary one myself (which I LOVE) but I’ve heard great things about the others. I’ll defiantly have to look into purchasing a couple of them to play around with. Thank you so much for sharing them with us Xo

  • The NYX one sounds great! I tend to prefer more fuller coverage. I’m not getting on well with my foundation at the moment, so might be time to look into one of these!

  • I haven’t try any of these foundations. I’m not really a foundation person. But since these foundations are vegan friendly, I believe they are good for me to try. Thank you for sharing.

I think it sounds like we have the same kind of combination but slightly on the drier side skin so I think I would love these foundations! The ELF Flawless Finish is a long time favourite of mine already. I’ve been eyeing up that Ordinary one for some time too. Definitely adding these to my To Try list Amy!

Oooo I haven’t tried any of these! I used to love E.L.F although I haven’t used much from them since they came back to the UK with the price increase! I’m so intrigued by Fenty though – I’m dabbling in their skincare at the moment xx

They look and sound really good. And I love the shade of these too. I always find it quite tricky finding a foundation to match my pale skin!
