Hourglass Cosmetics – Why You Need To Try Them

Hourglass has been one of those brands that I’ve wanted to try for so long and in August last year, I finally got my first product from them. It was the Ambient Lighting trio, and honestly I fell in love with their brand, their products are such high quality and on the more expensive side, but their products are so bloody luxurious. Here are a few reasons you need to try this brand and my favourite products!

Hourglass Seamless Finish Liquid Foundation

Now I have tried the stick and I really love it, however, I also really enjoy a liquid foundation, as they do seem to last a lot longer for me personally, but I will be buying it again, I’ve just run out. Back to the foundation, now at first when I got colour matched I was quite worried as it came out quite yellow on my skin, however, one it was applied and it settled, it matched my skin perfectly – no yellow undertone. It gives such gives such amazing coverage and any redness on your skin is literally gone! The thing that I love about this foundation is how it melts into the skin giving you this amazing coverage without looking caked onto your face.

One important thing to remember with this foundation, is a little goes such a long way, so don’t pump too much out!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

This was my first purchase and it has been very well loved, I basically use it everyday. The middle shade is such a go to shade for me, it gives my skin this gorgeous glow without ay effort and doesn’t leave a cast on my face. The last shade on the left is a shade I’m able to bronze my skin with as it is the right shade to give me this amazing sun kissed glow without looking orange. It is an absolutely beautiful palette, and even the shade on the left is slightly pink so it gives me a little flush of colour if I don’t want to have a harsh blush on my face.

If you’re looking for powders that are absolutely gorgeous on the skin then this palette I perfect for you. It is compact so you are able to travel with it if you like!

Hourglass Arch Brow Shaping Gel

I have very fluffy brows, and the thing that I love about this gel is it keeps them in place all day. My brows like to move about but with this gel, it keeps them soft and in place. I’ve tried a few brow gels and sometimes they can leave your brows feeling super crunchy because they are so strong – a bit like the extra strong hairspray I used to put on my hair when I was about 15 to keep my curls in place. This one however, makes my brows feel so soft without the crunch and they don’t move!

Mine is in the shade clear however they do come in different shades if you do want it for that!

Hourglass Ambient Ghost Palette

Now this was the holiday collection, but it is an absolutely gorgeous palette. I love the blushes so much, especially the one on the bottom right. It gives your face this gorgeous flush of colour and it blends out like such a dream! Like with all Hourglass make up they are so smooth on the skin and last all day. The middle shade on the top row is actually a setting powder, and I really like using it under my eyes, it gives y our skin such luminosity, but without making your skin look cakey. It also really helps me with creasing under my eyes as I get that quite a lot.

This is the first holiday palette I’ve bought from Hourglass, and I definitely don’t think it will be my last. I loved the quad that they also came out with this year but I didn’t have a chance to buy that one!

Hourglass Caution Mascara

Now I have a mini of this because I have so many mascaras that I love, however, this has been one that I’ve really liked using. I’m very lucky to have long lashes, but this mascara literally make my lashes look miles long! It curls them with ease, doesn’t clump the lashes together and it doesn’t crumble during the day either! Personally, I think that is a win win situation.

The consistency of the mascara is a lot thinner than I was anticipating, normally all the other mascaras I have tried are quite thick in consistency with a large fluffy wand. This wand is smaller, but it works wonders on your lashes!

Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil

I’ve said before how I have very bushy brows, however I do have sparse patches as well. This brow sculpting pencil is amazing for filling in your brows, making your brows a little more pronounced, and for creating the perfect line along the bottom. The pencil is actually very pigmented, and if you need to and you do make a mistake, you can clean it up with ease. The pencil itself is quite stiff, however it allows you to get those gorgeous lines and the pigment exactly where you want it.
