Blogging is an incredible thing, I say it all of the time, it has give a lot of people so many incredible opportunities, we’ve all had the chance to meet amazing friends along the way and not only that a lot of us have had a chance to work with some incredible brands! What blogging has offered us is something that a lot of us would never have imagined, but there is also a difficult side to it. The other day I had a very nasty comment saying I’m not as supportive to other bloggers as I once was. That hurt.
Now over the last few months, I’ve had a series of health issues, things that have got to me quite a bit and it’s been a difficult few months for me, but I’ve tried not to let that get to me because I’ve had some absolutely amazing things happen to, so I’ve been focusing on them.
The fact that someone would actually take the time to send that message actually hurt my heart so much, I couldn’t even tell you, and then it got me thinking have I not been as supportive as I once was to others? Have I changed? Have I done something different lately?
I mean I haven’t been on social media as much I normally have been lately but I do try, I leave comments where I can on people’s blogs, I comment on Instagram and like ass I go through, I mean it’s a vicious cycle of thoughts right now.
But in reality you literally cannot support everyone with a comment on their blog, there are so many bloggers out there, it is physically impossible to comment on everyone’s blog, and not only that life happens and things get in the way, that doesn’t mean that when someone gets an amazing collaboration that they’re not supporting you. The one thing I’ve learned, especially within my circle of friends is that everyone wants you to succeed, everyone wants you to get that amazing collaboration and everyone wants you to achieve whatever it is that you want and whatever it is that you want in the blogging world. That is the beauty of it.
I have been so lucky because I have the best circle of blogging friends, they support me through everything, and I do them, if they had a book, a make up line I would 100% be out there, but it isn’t physically possible to support everyone in the blogging world.
If someone gets an amazing collaboration, say congrats, like comments and share the love. I’m doing what I can, I do try and share people’s shops as much as I can, people’s blog posts and things that I love. I know I do need to make sure that I support people as much as possible because that is the beauty of the blogging community, but try not to feel guilty, it’s okay. You’re doing what you can.
Just a small shout out to the incredible people who always support me Sian, Jasmin, Michelle Holly, Nadia, Ella, Maisie Southampton Bloggers (amazing network!) Amy, Emily-May, Chloe, Tanya, Alice & Gayle just to name a few within the blogging world, I mean they’re all incredible bloggers and people who inspire me so much! If I’ve forgotten anyone which I know I will have I’m so sorry, I adore you!
Do what you can when you can, don’t feel guilty about not being able to support everyone in the community, it is so diverse & so strong, we are all rooting for each other to succeed.
What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

You are one of thee most supportive people I know, and don’t you let anyone tell you otherwise! I sometimes feel so unsupportive on IG, but it just doesn’t show me what I want to see! Its a constant guilt – its so frustrating!

Thank you so much Erin, that really does mean the world to me! xxxxx
This has been a new thing that has been going around and we often forget that daily new people join the blogging community. While we all love to support one another and share the love, enjoyment and community pride, we are all still just people and our first priority should be our happiness, friends, family, work and blog. Yes, being able to support others feels wonderful, but damn, don’t go hating on others because life got in the way of one thing. Some days I don’t do anything on my blog, don’t visit other blogs and don’t comment at all anywhere. And other days I am the beast of all beasts and you see my name everywhere… You do you! And break all of the rules if you have to along the way. Hope you find your bliss again and I’m so glad that you have an amazing support group in the more difficult times. Love your post!! Chrissie xxxx
Thank you so much Chrissie, that really does mean a lot for me, the guilt can be crippling to be honest! xxxx
Wow, I honestly can’t believe anyone could say that about you!! You’re always on hand with a kind word or a lovely comment. I really think that comment says more about that person than it does about you!
I try to support as many bloggers as I can, but it’s so hard to keep up with everything that I just do it when I feel I’m able to.
Love you Amie xx
Thank you so much my angel, that really does mean the world to me! It is so hard to support everyone but trying to support little and often really helps! xxxx
Blimey who in their right mind would say that to you? I think people forget that bloggers are people with other stuff going on outside of blogging as well. If we were constantly supportive, 24/7, to every single person we came across we’d literally not have time to breathe xxx
There is so much that goes into being a blogger, you need to make sure that you have time you have in 1 day! xxxx
I can’t believe some people 🙁 eurgh xx
There’s always going to be someone who tries to bring others down in life xxxx
I think I’ve really needed to read this post today! I always try my hardest to comment and share posts that I’ve loved but i get some stick for not sharing certain peoples!
Rosie
I know what you mean my lovely, but you are always so supportive and caring! I literally adore you so much! xxxx
some people eh? you always come across as one of the most supportive bloggers out there, i always try and write on blogs that ive enjoyed reading, i always share and retweet stuff.
I do the same my lovely, but sometimes I just genuinely don’t have time and it sucks! xxxx
I can’t believe someone would take the time to actually message you that! I mean, really, who does that? People can be so petty sometimes. I deal with health issues 24/7 and I try to be as supportive to other bloggers as I can, even if it’s a simple retweet of one of their blog posts. I don’t know that many bloggers and I’m actually really shy, so I find it hard to participate in the twitter chats etc to actually get to know people. But the bloggerverse is so vast you can’t possibly support everyone! x
You’re always so lovely my darling, and you’ve always got me to chat to! Just do what you can and what makes you feel comfortable! xxxx
I totally agree, it’s so hard to find the right balance at times.
I don’t feel like I am atm but you have to work around life.

I totally agree, I think we all need to be reminded about the balance sometimes so we don’t work ourselves into the ground! xxx
I do feel guilty sometimes of not helping other bloggers as much as I’d like but you’re right – you can’t support everyone all of the time x

Exactly, there are just so many bloggers, it’s difficult! xxxx
You really shouldn’t feel guilty, do as much as you can, and that it enough. You don’t own anyone anything. Focus on your health lady!
Thank you so much my lovely! xxxx
a few years back I stopped being the friend to go to. I was just getting overwhelmed by it all & wasn’t taking care of myself.
I think it is so important to look after yourself first! xxxx
Reason 42502453 that you’re one of my blogging favourites – this is so spot on! I’ve been struggling with this lately, and I’ve felt my attempts to support everyone has been affecting my content. I’ve been spending a whole day on replying to people on Twitter, or commenting on blogs, while my own work falls to the side. I’m trying a new schedule where my social media use is much more limited, but I feel so guilty because I know I’m not as supportive as I was at the beginning, and I’d hate for anybody to feel like I used them. It’s simply that there are so many people now!! All the notifications quickly mount up, which I feel very lucky for, but it makes it a huge task to get back to everyone, let alone support other people’s work.
Sorry for the ramble, but I’m just so glad I’ve seen this. Also, sorry someone took the time to send that message to you. You’ll always be a rockstar to me! xx
I know what you mean my lovely, but don’t feel guilty, just do what you can when you can. You’re only human and sometimes you need to put yourself first! xxxx
