I’m very much an all or nothing kinda girl, I don’t stop. When I commit to something or someone, I do whatever it takes to make sure that I give it my all and I achieve everything physically possible. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, it doesn’t matter how many hours I need to put in, I will make it work. The only problem with that though, is I don’t give myself a break. My husband has a joke with me when I do so much all day and he says you need a rest – I go, what’s that?
When it comes to finding balance I’m literally the worst. I mean when it comes to taking a break I’ll say oh it’s just a few more minutes and then I’ll take a break. 4 hours later I’m still going. Even at the weekends, I’m still pretty much full throttle doing something else, and I wish I could say I was tired, but I’m always driving myself to do better – be better. Even at school I never had the balance right. Schoolwork would come first before going out, I was way too much of a goodie goodie. And as a teen going into my GCSE’s balancing friends was a rough one.
When someone asked me the other day – how do you manage everything? That question is what actually prompted this post. I don’t manage everything and I don’t have balance, and that is a problem.
I’m never going to be that person that has the perfect balance in my life, between work, my marriage, my friendships, my family and everything else. I wish I could be that person, but I don’t think I will be.
I go away for the weekend on the 20th, I’m super excited, but I’m currently sitting here like, oh my gosh I have so much to do, what will happen while I’m away, how will I stay on top of everything I need to do. I mean I know my life won’t cave in on those few days but honestly I can’t help but sit there and be like, honestly what am I going to do?
I really think I’d need more hours in the day just to get everything done and make time for everything. I mean seriously. Imagine if there were more hours in the day, I might actually get a little bit more sleep, I might be a little more chilled out, you know add in a few others things that we would actually like to do but don’t have time for normally.
To be honest I think everyone would want to find a balance, that would be the dream right? Being able to have time for everything we would want and need in our lives, but it just isn’t possible.
You should never feel like you need to stop everything just to find the balance, you don’t need to do that. But you do need to listen to your body, listen to what your body is telling you and just remember what is important. If you need a break, then have a break, don’t push yourself, give yourself a moment and don’t forget that you can work hard, but you need to enjoy life too. Life is way too short to not to learn to find some kind of balance in life – that is something I need to learn.

Exactly I’m just trying to continue to do what makes me happy! xxx
This is such a great one. Most people try to get balance and make it their mission but it really doesn’t matter xx
I totally agree, as long as you don’t forget about the people you love, that is the most important thing! xxxx
I find balance really difficult too. My whole life has felt “off” for years!
Me too darling, but you should always do what makes you happy darling balanced or not! xxxx
I think we all aspire to get the right balance. I’m struggling lately and I’m way off.

I’m way off too my darling, don’t worry! xxxx
Think balance is always different depending on each person – someone might look really organised from the outside but it’s all different x
I totally agree! It’s so hard! xxxx
balancing everything is one of those things i feel like everyone struggle with, we are only one person and something always breaks
Balance is different for everyone too, I’ve been way off lately too! xxxx
We must literally be the same person! I am totally and completely an all or nothing girl in absolutely everything I do!
Rosie
And then we end up being emotionally exhausted. The struggle is real! xxxx
Girl what even is balance?! Balance to me looks different every day x
I know lady, I totally feel you on that front! xxx
I love your honesty! Also, there is balance in imbalance 🙂
Thank you so much my lovely! Balance is always a struggle for a lot of people! xx
Balance is so hard to achieve. I had to learn the hard way when I got ill. I still don’t feel I have balance but then does anybody really, truly lead a totally balanced life? I doubt it lol
I totally agree my darling, I think when you get ill it makes you realise a lot, I know it did for me personally! xxx
I am the exact same hunny!
Who needs balance anyway my lovely! xxxx
I personally think balance is overrated. I’m definitely an all or nothing person too and honestly, I think it shows passion, a true ambition and dedication. As long as being 100% is littered with some self-care in between, I say go as you can 🙂
Sincerely, Sarah xx
