I love being online, one of my favourite things is to be able to participate in blog chats, support others, like ach others tweets, make people feel better when they’re down. In the last few months however there has been this awful lingering cloud over it and I’m just kind of wondering what the bloody hell has happened to the community I love the most! I know that not everyone is going to get on with everyone, and that is natural, but honestly this negativity has honestly got to stop.
Not everyday is going to be a great one, I mean I know that better than most to be perfectly honest. I’ve been a bit of a grump lately, not as positive as I could have been lately, but it’s just one of those things unfortunately, life gets in the way, just gotta try to look at the positives.
This post isn’t about throwing anyone under the bus, it’s just me having a little rant about how I’ve been feeling and what I plan to do from now on.
We aren’t in the school playground anymore, we are fully grown adults, there is no need to throw people under the virtual blogosphere bus, throw shade at someone or anything like that.
If you have an issue with someone, speak to them directly, don’t use Twitter to send indirect tweets, get minions to attack someone online. It’s not right.
I saw a tweet the other day about someone saying twitter had become a platform of indirect tweets and shade. It got me thinking.
I like to sit there and scroll through social media and I see a tweet or I see an update and I think is that an indirect towards me? It literally makes me so paranoid, but then I realise, so what if it is about me? Life is too short to sit there and worry about whether or not it is about me. Wanna know why?
There’s more important thing in life than wondering about whether that tweet is directed towards me. There’s family, friends, loved ones, people who build you up rather than worry about silly indirects.
Why let someone’s indirect tweet make you feel like that? You don’t know if it is about you, so why worry, if they’re not going to come to you directly about something just cut them out of your feed. Blogging is supposed to be fun, you’re supposed to enjoy it, enjoy what you’re creating and sharing but also be inspired by other incredible creators. That is one of the things I love about blogging.
Life is too short for all of that, focus on what is best for you, if you want to unfollow someone because they are bringing you down or they’re triggering you, do it. Sometimes we forget to put ourselves first, it’s actually the most important thing we can do. It’s not selfish it’s necessary.Social media is not the be all and end of all of everything, I know that, but it doesn’t take a lot to be a good and kind person.
Be nice, be a good person, follow your dreams, don’t take any crap, do what makes you happy and above all appreciate the people around you.
From now on though, I’m going to share so much love, retweet some of my favourite posts, uplift people, and remember what blogging is all about!
Also a shout out to the people who have been like my rocks lately aka Chloe Lady Writes, Kirsty Fashion For Lunch, Amy I’m Amy Elizabeth, Jasmine Blogs All Beauty, Nadia Miel and Mint, Ella Was Here, Rebekka All That B & Megan Life With MCM. You are all pure babes. These ladies have literally been the best, they’ve listened to me when I rant, supported me and given me words of advice, I couldn’t wish for better blogging babes. They mean the absolute world to me, I’d be lost without them.
