A Reminder About Not Being Okay

We all go through times where we aren’t okay, where we just want to curl up in bed with a good book and hide from the world. Over the last few months in the comfort of my own room and my own bed I have had lots of moments where I’ve not been okay. When you’re not okay the last thing you want to do is get up and do anything, let along go out.

I’m the kind of person that likes to keep calm and carry on, do what I need to do and not let anything get to me.

Sometimes it doesn’t work like that. Well a lot of the time.

In those moments when you’re 100% not okay, remember that you’re not alone. Trust me. We have all had those moments when we literally feel like we are going to crumble.

You are strong though, I mean so strong that you can get through anything and everything.

On those days when you want to just crawl away in your bed, remember that you will be okay, you will get through this, but you think, I’m supposed to be strong? To be brave? To stand tall even when times are tough.

Sometimes you have to be broken down to your lowest point to be build back up again.

I know that even when I’m at my lowest I always feel like I have to be there for everyone around me but sometimes you really do just need to take a step back, you need to just focus on you.

When you feel like this remember you’re going to get through it, take time away, surround yourself with the people that you love more than anything and of what is best for you.

You get to a point where you have no strength, you feel tired constantly and even the longest nap known to man still isn’t long enough to wake you up.

When you feel like this though, remember you don’t ever have to go through any of this pain alone, it won’t last forever and it does get easier.

Bad days build better days and I have so much faith in the fact that everything happens for a reason, and I will be stronger for everything that has happened.

You are fabulous, you are strong, and everything will get better. Put Netflix on, your favourite pjs, turn your phone off, and have some you time, focus on yourself and what your needs are.

What are your thoughts on not being okay? What do you do?

I’ve had a few of these days recently. I haven’t had a day off in almost a month, which is kind of stressing me out. I feel like you do as well though, like i must keep everyone else happy. Sometimes i jist feel tired emotionally too. However, this is a great reminder and at the perfect time.

This is so important because lots of people feel like they can’t be anything other than ‘okay’ or ‘fine’ and accepting it is the first step in dealing with it x
