8 Things To Be Happy About During Autumn

I’m pretty sure I’ve said this multiple times on my blog over the last 2 months, but Autumn is literally my favourite time of year and I’m pretty sure I’m going to continue to say this until Christmas. Yep I’ve gone ahead and mentioned the C word that everyone dreads when the beginning of November rolls around. Regardless of whether you’re the kind of person that loves Autumn or you don’t there are definitely things that we can all enjoy during this time of year, because let’s be honest it’s a beautiful time of year.

1. The leaves changing colour

The leaves have only just started changing colour where I am, but they’re looking all the gorgeous shades of red, yellow and orange. It makes me so happy seeing all the leaves change colour, and when the weather is really grey and miserable, seeing all the gorgeous leaves makes a day so much better.

2. Seasonal drinks

I am very much a sucker for a seasonal cup of coffee, I mean besides the fact that my body is basically 90% coffee, there is something special about a seasonal cup of coffee. It’s like the added sweetness or the fact that it is something different, it just makes me smile.

3. Cosy evenings

I’ve spoken a lot about cosy evenings, bundling up under fluffy blankets, Netflix, hot chocolate and fairy lights twinkling while having candles burning. Yes I am currently wishing that I was curled up in bed having a cosy evening in my PJ’s.

4. Crunchy leaves

The best thing about going out for a walk in autumn is the fact that as you walk you can feel and hear the leaves crunch under you feet, I mean it is one of those sounds that is just so soothing. It’s one of my favourite sounds.

5. Darker lip colours

Now I very rarely wear a really dark lip, mainly because when I wear a really darker lip I can sometimes look washed out in the face. Maybe I just haven’t found the right shade yet – who knows, but I love people wearing the darker lip shades!

6. Cosy knitwear

I’m a sucker for all things knitwear, whether it is a jumper or a cardigan, I need to be all layered up physically possible. I don’t care how many layers there are as long as I stay warm. I am personally a massive sucker for the fluffier and softer the jumper the better!

7. Comfort food

Now I don’t need an excuse for carbohydrates, some of my favourite foods come in a shade of beige. Whether it is pasta, pizza, cake, waffles basically anything with a potato too, you name it, I’m all about the comfort food! If you fancy making the most amazing pasta recipe I’ve got you covered with my favourite easy and cheesy pasta bake.

8. TV actually improves

Anyone else notice that as soon as Autumn rolls around, so many amazing programmes come on the TV, whether you like reality TV or even really good films, TV just gets so much better. Or if you have Netflix, you can binge watch everything to your hearts content!

Oh don’t worry about using the C word hehe, I’m SO ready for Christmas! I’m actually not a huge fan of autumn because I don’t like winter and autumn just feels like the lead-up to winter, hehe, but this post made me appreciate it a lot more! I’ve definitely been wearing lots of cozy sweaters and enjoying the changing colors of the leaves! Hope you have an amazing rest of the autumn season 🙂
