Self Doubt & Making A Change

Self doubt rough, let’s be honest, self doubt plants this seed in your head that whatever you are doing, it might not be good enough, that you can’t do it, you’re not strong enough, you’re not worthy and more. It plants all of these painful and hurtful things in your head that are 100% not true. I sat there the other day and it took me over 3 hours to edit a photo. I was like nope that’s not good enough, nope that won’t look right on my Instagram, I can’t post that.

It sounds like something so small doesn’t it? Just editing a photo. When it comes to my Instagram and a lot of bloggers/influencers, we put our heart and souls into editing a photo. A photo can go through so many processes to get it looking the way that you want it to, and no one sees the process behind it. Trust me it can be a tough one.

Over the last few weeks, I haven’t really been posting on Instagram or social media that much (besides my scheduled tweets on Twitter) I mean there was a time when I couldn’t wait to upload to Instagram, but over the last few days I’ve honestly just been doubting myself so much I genuinely don’t want to upload. It’s absolutely nothing to do with the platform, it’s more to do with myself. Doubting whether or not what I create is good enough, whether or not I am good enough.

It’s not something you ever want to feel if I’m honest.

It’s exhausting, it’s emotional, it’s draining, it’s a struggle and it makes me feel ridiculously grumpy and moody when I doubt what I can do!

So instead of continuing to allow all of this to get the best of me, I’m making a change. I will not let this get the best of me, I will not let it stop me from doing things I love, enjoying creating and overall doing what makes me happy.

I’m going to stop letting the voice that tells me I can’t do something stop me from doing what makes me happy, the things that I enjoy and more importantly the things that I’m passionate about.

It’s understandable  that you would be your own harshest critic, but do you know what, I need to be a little less harsh on myself and stop doubting myself.

If you’re like me, then this is one for you.

You can do whatever you want, you can achieve whatever you want in life, and not only that that little voice in your head is not your friend. Don’t listen to it. That voice isn’t worth your energy, it isn’t worth anything like that, you are of infinite worth, and nothing should stop you from being the best human you can be and achieve whatever you want.

Life is exactly what you make it, and self doubt is not worth an ounce of your time.

Do you struggle with self doubt, let me know in the comments!

I definitely struggle with self doubt. It really is a struggle to ignore that little voice in my head sometimes, especially when it comes to the things I’m passionate about. But I’ve managed to do some incredible things despite my self doubt.
