So You’ve Had A Bad Week – Making This Week Better

The last couple of weeks have been tough for me, but even though it’s Wednesday every day is a fresh start and I’m motivated to make this week better. I’m not the kind of person to hide what is going on in my life. I share everything online – the good, the bad and the ugly. Over the last few days with my health issues, a to do list that has been rivalling a novel and other worries, I’ve basically felt like the weight of the world has been on my shoulders and there was nothing I could do about it.

Sometimes when you’ve got what feels like every problem in the world on your shoulders you can’t see beyond it and that is what I’ve been feeling lately. I pretty much think I’m going to crumble under the pressure but do you know what I’m ready to make this week better.

Over the weekend I’ve had a lovely time spending time with Paul, a massive vent about how I’m feeling and a bit of a cry, and to be honest I think I needed it. After you have that massive cry you just feel so much better, it’s like you’ve had a massive weight lifted off your shoulders, and knowing that someone is drying your tears honestly makes me feel so much better.

We all need time to de-stress, relax and to just re-centre ourselves, and I think that is what I’ve managed to do. I need it so badly.

Even though I do share the good and the bad online like I said I am very much guilty of just glazing over what is going on personally, throwing myself into others things and trying to just be there for others rather than address how I am feeling. I guess I’m like the queen of avoiding things sometimes and especially if it has got to do with my emotions or taking a look inwards I tend to avoid it.

So how am I honestly going to make this week better?

Make some time for yourself, put some time into yourself, not just self care but working on yourself dealing with anything that is going on in your life, in your head, putting yourself first.

I’m going to be as positive as possible, I’m going to put the energy that I want out into the universe that I actually want in my life. I want all the positive energy in my life, and any negativity I will take with a grain of salt.

If there is bad news do you know what, everything happens for a reason, if there’s bad news I can handle it, I can take it. Life was never meant to be easy and I know that whatever happens I will just take it in my stride and take it as it comes.

Bad times never last forever, the bad times make you appreciate the good times. I have some of the best people around me and they make everything worth it, they make everything amazing, and I’m so grateful for that! They’re incredible and I don’t think I could love those people more!

  • Having a good old cry is SO HELPFUL. It really does get everything out and although you feel crap afterwards, it’s almost like a detox. Hope you have a better week, Amie! I’m having quite a good week, although Monday was quite tough but I’m trying to look at the positives more as well.

  • Giving yourself time to embrace feeling cr*p is definitely a good thing, or at least it is for me. I allow myself time to wallow or be sad and then try to draw a line. It’s sometimes easier said than done but a good netflix binge and a bit of comfort food works wonders.

    Sincerely, Sarah xx

I can totally relate. The past couple of months have been a struggle for me too with my mental health but I’ve finally been put on antidepressants and am starting CBT.

Having a good cry is definitely a way to be in touch with your emotions. I also have a ‘everything happens for a reason’ and ‘this too shall pass’ mentality.
