5 Ways I’ve Managed To Fall Back In Love With Instagram

I talked about Instagram the other week with the thoughts all bloggers have when it comes to Instagram (you can read that post here) however as of late, I’ve actually been loving Instagram. Enjoying Instagram can be really hit and miss, I mean you’re not going to love it everyday, you will have a love/hate relationship with Instagram, but I’ve been falling back in love with it, not just because it’s such a creative platform but because it’s a way another way to express myself! I’m not saying loving Instagram will be easy, but here are my top tips.

Care Less

Honestly the less I care about likes, the more I enjoy it. I mean engagement would be so lovely mainly because working an hour on blog photos for about 10 people to engage with it is pretty damn heartbreaking but do you know what? I just love creating content for the gram. It’s a completely different way to get creative, you can share your personality and just have fun with it!

Get as creative as you like!

The beauty of blogging is you can be ridiculously creative, you find ways you’re creative but you don’t even know you knew. You can edit with filters, draw things onto your photos, get creative with your photos, just do whatever comes naturally to you, whatever you enjoy! That is the beauty of Instagram, you can get super creative and enjoy it! Push the boundaries of your Instagram and love every moment of it!

Making it personal

The one thing I love to do on Instagram is to share a bit of myself, not just through photos but with captions too! Of course I share probably a few too many flat lays on my Instagram, but I try to make it as personal as possible with a caption. When I read a caption that is personal I feel like I can relate to them, I can feel their personality and that is what makes me love Instagram more! Even if people don’t follow my blog, Instagram is super important to me and it is something I adore!

Don’t feel pressured to post

This is something I still struggle with on a daily basis but I don’t pressure myself to post! I think when you feel pressured to post you end up feeling like nope this isn’t going to work, it isn’t happening, I don’t want to do it. I post if I  want to, if I have something I feel like sharing or I get excited to post a photo. That I show it should be!

Switch it up a bit

I actually had a play around with my flat lays not so long ago, and found a way that I enjoyed creating photos, a style that worked for me, that made my photos recognisable (basically with a tonne of blooms in the picture and a lot of purple and grey) and I feel like I’ve found my groove. Everyone is different, everyone finds their comfort zone, but also pushing the envelope with those photos and not just getting comfortable in my comfort zone.

At the end of the day Instagram is just another platform, it is supposed to be fun, you’re supposed to enjoy it and have an amazing time just creating and sharing your creations!

Thank you so much angel! Instagram is a hard platform but I’m definitely falling back in love with the platform! xxxx

  • I’ve also fallen back in love with Instagram! A few years ago, I was OBSESSED with likes, comments, follows. I’d take part in hundreds of those shout out for shout out things just to get more followers, ugh! But I just post what I want, when I want now. I really am not bothered about my follower count. As long as I like my Insta, that’s what’s important!

That is how I was, but now I’m just loving being creative and sharing what I love! xxxx

these are all great tips! ive just started doing instagram again and my biggest issue is im super private with my children online so keeping with a ‘parent’ insta while being personal and me is hard

    • amiecadwallader@outlook.com says:

I totally know what you mean, maybe not having their faces in photos, or whatever you’re comfortable with, or showing products you use, that would work better for you! xxxx

  • Yes to ALL of this! Totally agree!

I’ve completely fallen out of love with Instagram, I hate that I can’t do any flatlays or anything. I want more personal captions and better photos but don’t know how!

Great post! I find when I feel pressured to make my Instagram look perfect that I quit posting because I don’t enjoy it anymore. Being that I’m a “lifestyle” blogger, my job is to post about me, so I enjoy it more when I’m just sharing myself, no matter how “pretty” the photo may be!

    • amiecadwallader@outlook.com says:

Just keep doing your thing my lovely, your photos are fabulous and you’re doing an amazing job! Just keep going! xxxx

I loved this post! I gave up on Instagram because I was putting far too much pressure on myself to make it “perfect” and I kept comparing it to other people’s. You have made me want to give it another try; this time just being me, being creative and not putting any pressure on myself. Thank you lovely!

First of all, it makes me so happy to meet another curvy vegan. We’re a rare breed on social media. Trust me, your visibility gave me hope for more inclusion. Second, I adore your Instagram and your overall advice in this post. I am curious if you’d ever feel comfortable sharing any tips on how to approach flat-lays. It’s still something really awkward for me to the point that I had made my account private and deleted things.
Your post gave me a wave of hope that maybe I’ll find my own groove as well. Thank you for being such a kaleidoscope of beautiful positivity. Keep on keeping on.

I can definitely do a post if you’re really interested or I can send you a message about things that have helped me with my flat lays? xxxx

  • Danielle says:

Some great tips! I completely agree, don’t force posts, only if they suit and you want to. It’s hard not feeling the pressure sometimes.

    • amiecadwallader@outlook.com says:

I totally agree my lovely, but you should always post what you want my lovely! xxxx

I’ve made the decision to leave Instagram for a while. It’s full of flat lays and picture perfect makeup and girls that I just found myself feeling very low. Decided to focus on platforms that make me feel good about myself
