A night away is something we all need sometimes, and with Christmas right around the corner an experience can be the perfect gift either for someone else or as a gift to you from you! I decided that a night away package was perfect, mainly because it was right down the road, and I knew the place was meant to be absolutely gorgeous! So are you ready for the ultimate cosy night with some absolutely amazing food?

So when we got into our room we were greeted by this amazing display with all these rose petals, it was so romantic! They did know it was our wedding anniversary as well, so they had some something super nice for us & FYI the bed was honestly ridiculously comfortable, I slept like an absolute baby!

We had dinner & breakfast included in our package, you get a certain amount each for dinner and anything over you basically pay for the difference. We had their festive menu because it is that time of year and that is what was on offer and honestly the food was amazing!

Where we had dinner was beyond romantic though, we were by the roaring fire, the Christmas Tree and the table was all candlelit, I mean it couldn’t have been more perfect!

So onto what we ate because the food was just gorgeous!

We had the vegetable risotto and honestly it was so delicious so full of flavour and the portion sizes were huge! I genuinely wasn’t expecting them to be that big if I’m honest but they were incredible. I am a sucker for a good risotto and I was literally in my element, the veggies were all mixed in but it was absolutely packed with vegetables and they tasted incredible!

Onto dessert which was the chocolate and coconut tart and oh my gosh this is literally a chocoholics dream come true! The chocolate was so rich and creamy, and with the raspberry coulis on the side it cut through the cream of the chocolate to cleanse the palette! Also the tart casing was so crunchy but light all at the same time, it was so delicious!

Like I said breakfast was also included in our stay and the breakfast was literally the most surprising for me because they had a vegan sausage available for me!

The sausages were literally filled with veggies and a soy protein and they tasted so good, we also had lots of coffee and orange juice too! You also get unlimited toast, Paul and I had a lot of toast with our breakfast, I mean honestly it is such great value for money.

I just want to make it clear the staff where we stayed were absolutely amazing, they were so kind and caring, they were ridiculously helpful too, especially when it came to where we were going because it was like an absolute maze, but Paul and I will be going back every year for our anniversary!

In terms of price for this hotel escape it is £99 which does sound expensive, however you get a gorgeous room, £29.50 each for dinner – anything over you pay the difference and a delicious breakfast. As a gift or as a treat for you and a loved one, this is literally the gift that keeps on giving!
