I have been binge watching Greys Anatomy again for a while, it’s one of my favourite programmes in the world, it’s one of those programmes that you can put on and just get caught up in. The fact that it is now available on Amazon Prime literally makes my heart so happy because I can sit and watch without any interruptions and just enjoy. But as I rewatch it now, I’m not sure it is because I’ve got older since watching the first lot of seasons, but I guess I just have a different perspective on it!
1. It’s Okay To Have A Meltdown
Cristina and Meredith had a few meltdowns of their own, I have had my fair share too. We ugly cry (I’m a pro at this) want to hide from the world, pour our hearts out and to just make ourselves feel better.
I had a massive one last week, to be honest it was a multitude of things, the thing that actually triggered me to cry after all the bad things happened was eating a cookie. It was in the shape of a rabbit. Sometimes it’s the smallest of things that can break you down. Having a bit of an ugly cry helped.
2. We All Have A Person In Our Life That Is “My Person”
Meredith and Cristina have the kind of friendship that everyone has at least once in our lives. The person that you can go to, pour your heart and soul out to and never judge you, the one that you can go to in the middle of the night without fail and know that they will be there no matter what is going on.
I definitely have my person, and I know I could trust them with my life. I’m forever grateful for their friendship too. Knowing you have that person can really our your mind at ease – it does with me!
3. You Can Always Learn From Your Mistakes
Let’s be honest Meredith, George, Cristina, Alex & Izzy all messed up at some point, whether it was in their personal life or in the hospital. We all have a chance to learn from our mistakes. No matter how old you get you never stop learning, no matter what happens in your life.
I’ve made so many mistakes, I’m not ashamed of them, I don’t regret them because they have made me who I am. I’m so grateful for the mistakes I’ve made.
4. Change Always Happens No Matter What
Throughout the show you see characters you love come and go, some die, some move on with their lives. Not only that people get divorced, break up only to make up again. Life happens and it is always changing. Not only that when Mark Sloane, Lexie Grey and Derek Shepherd died, I’m pretty sure that I was heartbroken for about a week. I get so emotionally invested in these characters.
Sometimes you need a little nudge in the right direction to embrace the change. It’s not always a nice change, it can be tough, it can be painful, but I’ve learned that lately. I’ve got to admit I’ve never been the best with change but I’m trying my best to embrace it.
5. Don’t Forget The Importance Of Saying I Love You
Remember when Mark Sloane died along with Lexie Grey – one of many moments during the entire show that made me sob my heart out. He loved her and never got the chance to say he loved her. You never know what is going to happen so don’t forget to tell that person you love them.
This is something I’ve learned recently, you never know what tomorrow brings – so say you love the people around you often.
6. Boundaries Don’t Always Protect You
Meredith always seems to have the best quotes – I’m pretty sure she is my spirit animal. Putting boundaries up to protect yourself doesn’t always mean you’re protecting yourself, you end up fencing yourself in and you stop yourself from growing and moving forward. I know I’ve been doing that lately.
I’ve been trying to take down my boundaries lately, I feel like I’m shutting people out for no reason, I’m attempting to put myself in a little box that I genuinely don’t need to be in.
7. Your Friends Can Become Your Family
The doctors at Grey Sloane Memorial were literally like a little family and I’ve got to admit, over the years the friends that have stuck around, have become part of my family. They’re people I can rely on just like family. Sometimes that is one of the most important things in the world.
I will always be forever grateful for the friends that have literally become part of my family, because they’re the people that I love just like they’re my siblings. Not only that, some of my blogging friends have definitely become my family!

I am absolutely obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy and completely agree with all of these lessons because even though Grey’s can be incredibly sad it certainly maintains such a positive and uplifting message. Lesson number 5 most definitely and one I live by as you never know when the last time you will see someone and saying ‘I Love You’ is just incredibly important.
It really is, the power of I love you is literally everything. 3 words, 8 letters and they mean the world! xxxx

Grey’s Anatomy has to be my favourite show ever. I have rewatched the seasons so many times I have lost count. I still cry, laugh and go through all the other emotions that come with watching the show and a lot of the really good scenes stick in my head because of how poignant they are. If ever there was a show to make you feel you are not alone with how you are feeling, it is Grey’s Anatomy! So many valuable lessons; it just keeps on giving! 😀
Sarah 🌺 || Boxnip
YES oh my gosh yes.
I only started watching Grey’s around two year ago, but now I’m not only up to date but I’ve rewatched it in its entirety twice haha. I love it so much.
