Being Unproductive And Making A Change

I’ve been having a few of those days where I’m just like nope, nothing is going to happen – and there is nothing worse than when you have a list a mile long, you have a lot of things to do and 0 motivation. I always say I want to tackle my dreams head on, I want to get to where I want to be in life, lately however I’ve felt so flipping low on the whole motivation front.

I want to take on the world, but apparently my head has other ideas and I just can’t give myself a kick up the backside.

Right now I honestly feel like everything is such a drag, it feels like it takes every fibre of my being just to do something. I just don’t know what is wrong with me. I’ve decided that I’m gonna get myself out of this funk, I’m gonna put myself out there and give myself a break a little bit.

I will get myself out of this funk.

So how am I going to sort myself out?

One. Lists, lists, lists.

I have always loved lists, and for some reason I’ve just stopped doing my lists. I used to make lists of all the things I wanted to do that day and then get the satisfaction of ticking things off that list. It was the best feeling! Lists make a massive difference to me.

Two. Go out and get away from the computer.

Honestly with the weather being as lovely as it has been easier for me to go out and just be away from my computer. I mean sometimes just a long walk and getting those endorphins going just makes me feel a bit more motivated to get what I need to done. Not only that, getting out inspires me so much more, I get more blog post ideas and it just gets the creative juices flowing. If you don’t want to go out, just get away from your computer and change your surroundings. Just do what makes you happy at the end of the day.

Three. Plan ahead.

Right now I’m starting to plan what I need to do the night before, mainly because I know that I will have a clear plan, that will help me to achieve my goals, get to where I want and need to be and overall just feel more motivated when I get up in the morning. I’ve got such an amazing plan ready for the next few days too, I’ve planned massively to get my head back in the game. I needed it.

Four. Give yourself a break.

As you’re going through your to do list, give yourself a little break. I know that sometimes it might mean that nothing else gets done, but do you know what? We all need a break every now and then, especially if we’re at a computer screen! When you do give yourself a break though, make sure that you enjoy every moment, make the most of it, and appreciate it.

If I didn’t make lists I’d get lost in all the things I had to do every day! x

Same! I’d be completely lost! I need a checklist to keep me going! xxxx

  • Yes to lists! Without a list I would not know where to start! Also, ticking something off gives such satisfaction!

I know what you mean, ticking things off my list is necessary! xxxx

  • I went through a little bit of this in May and it was so unlike me because I’m always so productive and working months ahead of where I am. But I think it’s important to definitely give yourself a break, even if you don’t necessarily want one and make the most of the unproductiveness and just chill the heck out. We all need that! xxx

Exactly, I’ve been one of those people who would work myself into the ground, but taking a break is super important! xxxx

I’m my most productive when I don’t actually have my laptop in front of me. I usually make crazy lists with tick boxes and there’s just no better feeling than ticking them off one by one!

I’m the same, tick boxes are so necessary and it keeps me going to be honest! xxxxx

I try and make lists but I am such a perfectionist with things I like having everything look neat or it wont work haha

I’m the same, being a perfectionist is such a struggle sometimes! xxxx

  • Harley says:

Yes, get away from the computer!! I actually wrote the same post about being burnt out. Sometimes it takes stepping back and taking a break before you’re able to be truly productive. Good luck, honey!

I think we all need to do that a lot more to be honest, taking a step back is so important! xxxx

I personally love writing up posts and scheduling them to go up automatically when I get that motivational boost-that way when I’m not in the mood I don’t have to worry about it at all x

    • amiecadwallader@outlook.com says:

That is what I’m doing right now, I like to get a lot of stuff queued and sorted out so I can keep the momentum going! xxxx

  • I’ve been a bit like this lately too. I need to get back to bullet journalling – I always feel so ‘on top’ of things when I’m in the swing of being organised. This post has given me the kick I need. Thanks lovely 🙂
