If you’ve read my blog for a long time you will know that I’ve never really stuck to a theme on my blog, I don’t just write one thing, I 100% do not have a niche and do you know what, I’m totally okay with that. Blogging is my outlet, and I find it super therapeutic and to be honest I don’t feel the need to put my blog in a box where I need to define it by a niche. Is it really necessary to put a label on our blogs? Do you define your blog with a niche? Here’s why I don’t.
When I spoke to someone the other day, I said I have a blog, they asked what I blogged about? I don’t have a niche, so when I told them what I wrote about they said, so you don’t focus on something specific? My blog is basically a safe haven for me to talk about anything and everything, I can talk about what I want, when I want, blog about whatever I want and just have it be my space.
Not only that my blog is an extension of myself and I definitely don’t just have 1 interest, I am so passionate about a variety of different aspects of my life.
If I do have a niche, that is me, I am the niche. There is no one like me because everyone is unique as a blogger. We might end up blogging about similar things, talking about similar topics but the difference with every blog is ourselves.
I enjoy writing about so many different topic including vegan lifestyle, food, lifestyle, mental health, beauty and blogging just in general, I have so many interests and that is one of the reasons that blogging brings out the best in me! It gives me the greatest outlet for my thoughts, feelings and everything that I’m passionate about.
I personally would find that if I was super niched and only focused on one thing I would end up getting bored, I wouldn’t be motivated to write, I wouldn’t be as motivated to continue to better myself and my blog. At the heart of every post though there is a lot of heart from me and what I want to do with my blogging life.
I love having freedom to write about what I want on my blog, it’s an amazing thing to be able to have that, but it is important to do what works for you.
This post isn’t about bashing people who do have a niche, you do what is best for you. If you continue to come out with amazing content that is niche based honestly that is absolutely fantastic, I’m sure your content is absolutely incredible! For me, that is honestly something that doesn’t work.
What is more important to me is putting out quality content that I am passionate about, that reflects me as a person and content that I would personally enjoy and read.
Blogging is supposed to be fun, enjoy your blog enjoy sharing your voice with the world and do what you are passionate about.
What are your thoughts on a blogging niche? Do you think you need it? Let me know in the comments!

I love this. I say im a mummy & Lifestyle blogger and that includes so many things. I feel like a niche just holds you back. Write what you love! 😍
Exactly we should just have freedom to do what we want and write what we want! xxxx
I couldn’t relate more to this if i tried! What you said about it being a “safe haven” is so true – in my latest post i described it similarly as “my happee place”, ‘happee’ after Hagrid’s spelling on the birthday cake! I received a rather unwelcome anonymous comment last month, which did knock my confidence and make me question what i write about…
Reading this has reinstalled my faith. Ultimately, there is a common denominator – whether I write about harry potter, crafts, cruelty free or mental health, I am writing for ME. I adore your blog and always stick with it, because whatever you write about it’s clear you truly believe in it.
“At the heart of every post is a lot of heart from me.” I may just have to write this in bold letters on my noticeboard, one of the truest things i’ve heard in a long time! Thank-you for being YOU xxxx
Bumble and Be
I’m so glad you relate to this my lovely! I’m so sorry that someone did that to you, people are bloody awful sometimes, but remember that your content is absolutely incredible, you write incredible blog posts and people love what you do! xxxx
I think this post sums up exactly what blogging should be about, and what it was about a long time ago. Writing about what makes you passionate, and happy, and having a space to just for you. A space to be yourself, without having to fit into a box!
Exactly blogging is your space you should write what you want on your blog – it’s about enjoying it! xxxx
this is so me, when i started i kept being told ‘you must have a niche’ but here i am almost 2 years later just sharing my world, a blog should be more about honesty and your stories than what thing a company has to sell
Exactly, your blog should be about doing your thing and sharing what you love! Do what makes you happy! xxxx
I find it so funny when people ask what I blog about and then I roll off a massive list of things like books, mental health, discussions, beauty, travel, blogging tips, personal things and the list goes on and on! You definitely don’t NEED a niche!
Exactly, you can do what you want on your space online, it’s yours to what you want with! xxx
I love this about you and your blog. You read so many advice posts and articles about you having to have a nice and that’s your USP. But with you it’s all about the person behind the blog and you are amazing!!
Thank you so much angel, I just feel like blogging is so personal, you can share what you want online and just do you thing and enjoy every moment! xxxx
Love this post and feel the same way. If my blog had a niche it would die a death pretty quickly. I love the freedom to write whatever I want whenever I want. I think a niche can be great if you’re trying to build a business or have in depth knowledge of a specific topic but personally I love blogs like yours that offer a little bit of everything. There is a place for all of us in the blog world, each one is different, that’s what makes them so interesting!
Thank you so much angel, I appreciate it! I’m just have so many interests and passions, I don’t know if I could just blog about one thing, or if blog posts would come to my head that quickly because of that! There is spot for everyone in blogging, that is what makes it incredible! xxxx
I feel you! With the years I’ve been blogging, both myself and me blog has changed a lot, and I don’t write about the same things, because I’m not the same person. I’d feel trapped if I had to limit myself to writing about just fitness or just mental health!

Exactly, I think the years that you blog you change, you find new things that you enjoy and you want to share with the world, that is the fun part about it! xxx
I love this post so much! I just love your blog in general, you give the best advice and there’s so many things I can benefit from your blog. It’s definitely okay if you don’t have any specific niche, the content is what matters. xx

Awh thank you so much my darling, that honestly does mean the world to me! Quality content is always what is important to me! No more, no less! xxxx
I think the joy of blogging is that you don’t NEED a niche if you don’t want one. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have a niche, but I find it easier for me to have one (beauty.) But I do love that each of us has the freedom to pick whether we do or don’t x
Exactly, you can do what you want with your blog! I absolutely adore your blog it is a one stop shop for all things beauty & you do so many incredible posts! xxxx
Loved this Amie! I love your blog and its content, you keep smashing it girlie! Couldn’t agree with this post on a personal level more!! xxx
Thank you so much my darling! I really appreciate it!xxxxx
I don’t like having a specific niche – I like to write about anything x

I think it is all about what works for you and you do an amazing job angel! xxxx
I love having a mix of blogs to read, which definitely includes blogs that aren’t too niche! The concept of you being the niche is lovely too.
Sincerely, Sarah xx

Me too! Having a niche works for some people and honestly that is amazing, for me I couldn’t do it! xxxx
I love how much happiness blogging gives you and I don’t feel that you need a niche. I think if you’re happy and doing what you love you can’t ask for more.

Exactly, blogging is so much fun and gives you so much, that is what is most important! xxxx
I think it’s a good idea to have a general direction, but I really don’t think a specific niche is necessary. As long as you have good content and connect with your readers, I think that’s all that matters, and you certainly do!!
I totally agree, I think it is more important to have a direction rather than a niche, but your niche is always you! xxxx
I love this, I think its so true I started off with just beauty but realised I wanted to do more as I realised I just want to write about whatever I feel.

You should always do what you enjoy the most at the end of the day, if you enjoy writing about something, do it and enjoy every moment! xxxx
I really adore this blog post babe, and really enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing another wonderful post. 🌸✨

Thank you so much my lovely I really appreciate it! xxx
My niche used to be Music and Lifestyle but now I write about Mental Health, beauty and other topics. It’s great having the freedom to be able to write what I want.

You should always write about what you want, it is your place on the internet you can do what you want! xxxx
“I am the niche”, I absolutely love that! Honestly, I’m not sure if I have a niche. I usually find myself gravitating towards topics like productivity, mindfulness, health, planning, etc. but I don’t want to restrict myself to those topics because there are so many other things that I enjoy!
Beatrice | The Bliss Bean
Do what you enjoy my darling honestly! At the end of the day it is important to do what makes you happy! xxxx
I don’t have a niche either. It’s just so much easier to be able to write about what ever I want 🙂 Great post!
People should just enjoy writing what you like! Blogging is so much fun! xxxx
yes to this! I’m the exact same. I don’t want a niche, I’m happy blogging about everything!
Exactly, blogging should be all about what you want to do and what you’re passionate about angel xxxxx
Absolutely loved reading this post! You do you hun and don’t let anything or anyone tty and tell u otherwise xx
Thank you so much angel, I’m definitely just doing my thing and just going to keep going 🙂 xxx
I’m the same, I have topics that I probably write about more than others, but I’d never restrict myself – I love the fact that I have the freedom to write about what I want to! I think niches are becoming less common in the blogosphere recently tbh – people want to prove that they are versatile now! xo

Exactly, you should always do what makes you happy with blogging, there is so much freedom and it’s your space on the internet! xxxx
Such a honest post! Many of us don’t have a niche and that is perfectly fine🤗
Love,
Anjali
I totally agree, a niche is great, but even if you don’t that is okay too! xxxx
Oooh, I like that. That you are your own niche!
I’m gonna use that if anyone asks me what my blog’s about – it’s honestly perfect and couldn’t be more true!
Exactly, at the end of the day you are your own niche, you don’t need a specific topic to write about all the time! xxxx
I worry sometimes that not having a niche means my blog won’t be “successful” but I wrote about what I love, and I’ve always hated being lumped into one category because I’m so much more than just music or just writing
Success isn’t defined by being our in a box, it’s about writing what you love, that is true success!
I absolutely love this post! I couldn’t agree more! I’m a blogger without a niche either and I feel fantastic about it! I feel free to be able to write about whatever I want and nobody is going to stop me nor make me feel like a bad blogger either.
Great post!
Thanks I really need this! I keep seeing posts where they say you need a niche to have a good blog.
A really interesting perspective. This is something I often cocern myself with as there is so much I want to share! But you are right it is perfectly normal for us to have more than one interest!
Hello! This post is really interesting and I can 100% relate!
I started my blog as book blogger, but I gradually decided that I did not want to be stuck with only one subject because I love writing and sharing! 🙂
