Over the last few weeks, there has been a lot off talk, especially with the #WeAreTheThey campaign and the plus size debates, I’ve spoken about this before, and here is the link to have a look at what that conversation has been about. With summer being hot on our heels, we are all getting ready for summer, and sorting out our summer wardrobe. We are all looking at the spring/summer trends and with the high street being our favourite places to go I thought I would go through some of the top picks to add to your summer wardrobe.

Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses are literally your best outfit go to, regardless of the occasion, you can keep cool, but also, you will be so comfortable.

This maxi dress is perfect for summer, what I love about the most is the fact that it has a high waist so it will come just about your waist, that way you are able to be really comfortable and the print is absolutely beautiful.

Fringing is everywhere right now, you literally cannot escape from it, but there are so many different ways of wearing fringing so I decided that going through a few different ways, but also looking at making sure it’s budget friendly.

I love this kimono, they’re the must have of this year, and if you don’t have one already, then you need to invest in one, and this is beautiful. I love the aztec print with this one, I love the earth colours too, if you’re going to the beach or even a party then putting this on over a white dress and you’re ready.

I absolutely adore this dress, it has 1920s flapper girl written all over it! If you’re worried it might not look right, it is a fabulous dress, it has incredible movement, but not only that it is a really good length.

3

Jumpsuits are everywhere and especially with the whole 70s vibe going on, and this one is beautiful. What I love about this jumpsuit is the fact that the fringing is around the arms and it’s nipped in at the waist.

4

This is such a beautiful playsuit, and do you know what is perfect about it, is the floaty fabric and it will keep you looking fabulous and cool when the warmer weather does finally arrive.

Now this might look a little busy, however, my idea for making this work is a fabulous white or black maxi dress and a pair of gladiator sandals, and it will be the perfect look, especially with summer being right around the corner.

2

If you want to try fringe on a swimsuit, then this is perfect, I love the halterneck strap on this swimsuit, it makes it feel very 50s or Marilyn Monroe. But I think the fringing has been done very tastefully.

3

I can’t get enough of tie dye honestly I adore it, but this is fabulous especially with the added fringing down the side, I also love the fact the colour isn’t too over the top or too in your face. You could easily team this with a pair of white linen trousers ready for the fabulous evening out.

4

This skirt is incredible, if you don’t really feel comfortable with a maxi dress but you want to show a little bit of leg, then this is beautiful, you can feel very comfortable with the fringing and you can still rock this fabulous mini skirt and maxi fringing.

Jeans can be a pain to find, I know for me I have a huge difficulty trying to find jeans, I have wide hips, a big bum and my legs have got a lot smaller than they were, and finding jeans can be difficult, however, I decided I would go through different types of jeans and finding something that everyone can wear and absolutely love.

Now if you’re not too confident with the whole 70s vibe and flares from the catwalk, these are a really subtle and comfortable alternative for you. Remember you can rock any outfit you want because you’re going to look absolutely fabulous. These are in a darker denim which is fabulous, you always need a darker pair of jeans just in case!
