15 Things I’ve Learned At 24 Years Old

It’s almost September which means my birthday month is almost over, when it comes to my birthday it always end up being a little bit of a reflective time for me because I think about what I have di’VE i’VE one, where I have been and where I want to go in the next 24 years. I am so determined that this year is going to be the year that I get everything together & I start to put myself first with my life. Not only that I have learned so much over the years, so what have I learned?

1. If you get a chance for a nap – take it.

Naps are the best moments, everyone needs a nap, or a naptime during their day. Naps keep me going throughout the day and just keep me so motivated.

2. Nothing lasts forever.

Whether it is friendships or relationships or genuinely anything in life, it doesn’t always last forever. It doesn’t mean that those friendships or relationships were a waste of time, sometimes people come into our lives to guide us or teach us a lesson.

3. Life is too short to stress.

I’m the kind of person that really does stress about the small things, honestly, I stress about everything. If you speak to my husband you will see that I do stress way too much. Lately however, I’ve been learning that sometimes you need to stop stressing about the things that you cannot change.

4. Don’t forget about the importance of family.

I have an amazing family, I have such incredible parents (including step parents) in laws, grandparents, and an amazing younger cousin who is more like a sister. (Yes Mia I mean you!) Family is so important, when things get tough, when life goes down the toilet, these are the people that will be there no matter what, who will stand by you and help you through that time.

5. Judging people isn’t necessary.

The amount of times I have been jughed because of the way I look, because I am plus size, or the way I carry myself. Do you know what it isn’t cool to judge people, you don’t know their story.

6. Surround yourself with positivity.

I’ve been looking at this for a long time and do you know what I’d rather cut out people who are negative and people that I don’t need in my life, rather than being dragged down by negative people.

7. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

This is one that I still struggle with because I’m the kind of person that hates making mistakes when I could just do it right first time round.

8. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Yes as you see in the 7th thing I’ve learned that I am very hard on myself, unfortunately there isn’t a lot that I can do about that, I just need to try to work hard on it so I give myself a little break.

9. Take time for yourself.

Regardless of what is going on, you need to make time for yourself, you can’t do all of  these amazing things for others, when you don’t make time for you.

10. Push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Some of the best things end at your comfort zone. That might sound so cheesy (sorry if you can smell the full on cheddar right now) but it is so true! You have got to push yourself if you want to achieve all the things you dream of!

11. Money can’t buy you happiness.

You could have all of the material things in the world but the most important things in the world are the people that are around you and the memories that you make.

12. Support others and be kind.

I love seeing other people in the blogging community succeed, it is honestly such an incredible thing to see. I’m not saying that you have to be a cheerleader for everyone, but just be a positive influence in the community and to the people around you.

13. Working on yourself is the best thing you could ever do.

I have so much to work on, I mean with my mental health, my general health and my weight loss journey I have a long way to go, but working on yourself is one of the most important things in the world.

14. Love yourself with all your heart

You might not love yourself everyday, I know I don’t. I don’t always exude confidence in person but you need to treat yourself like you would your best friend. You only get one body.

15. Put yourself first.

I am awful at putting myself first, but I am really trying to do it more and more and it is so important to do what is best for you and make sure that you say no to some  things and do what is important to you!
