It is getting easier and easier for vegan’s to eat out and find restaurants that have full vegan menu’s, it is actually the best feeling knowing that when you go to a restaurant they have a vegan menu that doesn’t consist of a salad. Honestly it is beyond refreshing! Last weekend I got to try the amazing 81 Beach Street in deal and as soon as I walked in I was beyond happy, it was relaxed, calm and I felt right at home. Are you ready to find out more about the food & have serious food cravings?
So the above photo was our starters, and honestly the food was just amazing, so yummy and so tasty, you get so much for your money it is so worth giving it a go, so what did we have?
This platter is literally my kind of heaven, it has seasonal crudites, beetroot hummus (honestly heaven!) mixed olives, baby leaf salad, cornichons and delicious warm bread. This starter was actually my kind of thing, it had so many of my favourites and it might look a lot but honestly it was the yummiest starter I’ve ever eaten.
Paul had the Asian stirfry and I he absolutely adored it, it had the most delicious kick of heat to it and not only that the flavours balanced perfectly. I tried a little bit, it was a bit spicy for me, but it was still super delicious!
The main courses honestly even better than the starters which I honestly didn’t think was possible after all that. We waited a little while for our mains which was actually perfect because it gives you time to chat, let your food go down and just appreciate the amazing view that we had from our table! Looking over Deal seafront was so calming, and the sunshine actually came out too!
This was my sweetcorn and polenta burger with sweet potato wedges. How amazing does that look? I mean serious. Those sweet potato wedges give me life. Anyone who knows me knows my obsession with sweetcorn and sweet potato anything. I absolutely adore it. This was beyond yummy, so tasty, and super filling. The wedges not only that were soft on the inside but crispy on the outside. Basically what I’m trying to say is they were the perfect wedge. The little sauce on the side literally made my meal because it was like a sweet tomato relish, mixed with the burger and the chips it honestly tasted amazing!
Paul had the sundried tomato risotto, and honestly it was one of the most delicious risottos we have ever had, it was creamy and fully of flavour and with the black olive tapenade on top it had the perfect blend of flavours. Honestly that did not last long because it was so delicious. Paul definitely couldn’t get enough of it. If only there was more! (Although by this point we were absolutely stuffed!)
Paul and I literally couldn’t resist having the same dessert, I mean it was 100% necessary and tasted absolutely amazing. Be prepared for your mouth to water that is all I’m saying.
Now this was an absolute dream for me because of course it is chocolate. We did start eating it before we even took photos (I’m sorry but I’m kind of not because it tasted incredible) but the photos honestly don’t do the brownie justice. It was moist, full of chocolate goodness, sweet and overall absolutely amazing. If you’re unsure on the banana flavour, it honestly wasn’t completely overpowering, it was a little hint of banana, it was mainly chocolate and coconut from the coconut sorbet. The addition of crushed hazelnuts honestly made the entire meal perfect!
This was honestly the perfect ending to what had been an amazing meal.
The staff were absolutely amazing, so talkative and welcoming and not only that made us feel so at home. It is fine dining but with a homely face, I’m pretty sure that I would have stayed all day and probably moved in given the chance I felt that at home and that relaxed.
Thank you so so much to the incredible team at 81 Beach Street you were amazing!
