Being productive can be hard sometimes, especially when we have so much to do. I’m that person that likes to have everything sorted in time and sticks to a schedule like glue, so when I’m not motivated or not feeling like I could be as productive as I should be, I put so much pressure on myself, and I mean a hell of a lot of pressure. So when you need to get those blog posts done, those tweets scheduled, that workout done, or anything else then this is the post for you!
One – Lists.
Lists are my life, I swear by them and not only that they keep me motivated! There is nothing better than just ticking off your to do list, it is beyond therapeutic and it makes me aware of what I need to do.
Two – Planning your day.
This is one that really helps me because if I have a plan I’m more likely to stick to it, so I plan out times, including breaks and making sure I schedule in food. I am the kind of person that likes structure so it really helps me!
Three – Caffeine caffeine caffeine.
Whether it is in the form of tea or coffee it really does help to keep you going. That little pick me up early in the morning and mid morning, honestly it helps me to take on the entire world!
Four – Take time away from the computer screen
Computers can be one of those places where it can inspire you or it can kill your inspiration and motivation in one swoop. Time away can really help to give yourself some chill time and not only that it helps me to be able come up with new ideas and just process them a bit better.
Five – Don’t pressure on yourself
It is easy to put pressure on yourself when you need to get things done, but do you know what the more you put pressure on yourself the less likely you are to get things done. Do what is best for you, if you don’t stick to your schedule, so what? It’s all about what is best for you!
Six – Fuel yourself
Good food always helps and when you’re trying to get things done, sometimes when you’re on roll you completely forget about food. I have done in the past and the only way I’ve remembered is because there was a bear like sound coming from my stomach. FYI don’t forget the chocolate too.
Seven – Play good music
A productive music playlist honestly makes everything better, especially if it gives me a chance to sing along and inspire me, there are lots of playlists on Spotify & Google Music to keep you motivated and singing along.
Eight – Personalise your work space
I think it is so important to be able to personalise your work space, it can really help you to be able to stay positive, motivated and inspired. A few gorgeous prints, motivational quotes and you are ready to go!
Nine – Supportive people
I’m so grateful to have so many amazing people in my life, especially my husband who has supported me through thick and thin, not only that the friends and family who have stuck by me, they motivate me to keep chasing my dreams wherever they may be!
Ten – When it’s not working don’t force it
This is similar to 5 however when you realise that nothing is getting done and it’s just not working today, take time out for you because you deserve it!
