Pressure To Live The Perfect Instagram Life

Honestly Instagram is the home to home goals, life goals, relationship goals, you name it, we probably get Instagram envious. I know I tend to, I’m not afraid to admit it! Especially when it comes to homeware, beauty tables and everything else. Honestly I think I have the green eye of envy all of the time, but do you honestly feel pressured into living the perfect Instagram life? Whether it is yes, no or you’re not sure I’m going to be looking at whether we all do feel a little pressure to have that perfect Instagram life.

We all know that life is never perfect, even if we tried, it doesn’t work like that. I try to be the kind of blogger that shows the good and the bad, even though I try to take a good flat lay photo, and generally try to be a pretty good blogger but I do feel a lot of pressure to have the perfect Insta life.

I’ve been working so hard on my Instagram for the last 6 months and I’ve seen such an improvement, I mean there is obviously more to do, there always I, but I’m not going to give up. I’m going to keep working hard at what I need to do.

There are some people who do such an incredible job and I mean absolutely incredible, I look up to them so so much! However I do feel like there is a lot of pressure to make sure that your photos are good enough, not only that you want people to see your posts and enjoy them. There is nothing wrong with that, however the changes in Instagram make it incredibly difficult for the people who do follow you to see your posts. I end up seeing posts from 3 days ago that I missed because they don’t show in chronological order. Anyway as normal with my posts I digress.

I’m definitely learning that there is no need to be pressured into living the perfect Instagram life. Instagram should be used as a beautiful photo diary, a photo diary that we can refer to when we want to remember certain things!

As long as you are creating incredible content, that it relates to what you want to put across, it doesn’t matter if it is good or bad, show all sides of your life, it doesn’t make you a bad person, it shows that you’re human. We all go through good and bad times, but don’t forget that your life doesn’t have to be perfect, just real.

What do you think? Let me know your response in the comments!

I don’t feel the pressure to live a perfect life for Instagram but I definitely only post the best photos etc which I guess feeds into it all. I’m absolutely one who needs to show more of a rounded picture – great post lovely!

I don’t struggle as much to live the perfect lifestyle but to do struggle with feeling my content on instsgram is never good enough!! Some times I will take a picture but feel like others may not like it so I don’t put it up which is so silly! I need to keep consistent but it can be so disheartening when no one sees or really engages with it!!xx

I am with you on that too, I always feel like I’m surrounded by people with insanely good content and then there is me! That algorithm is definitely doing my head in though! Xxxx

I really hate Instagram at the moment the pressure and constantly worrying about stats etc is driving me mad. Just remember no one is perfect no matter how amazing their Instagram might look x

Me too Kasie, I’m trying to learn to enjoy it regardless of the stats, I seem to be bobbing along! One minute I’m up, next I’m down! xxxx

My life is so far from picture perfect! I deffo feel the need to make everything look shiny and perfect on the outside even though I shouldn’t. But i do like the freedom that other social media gives you at being able to share the raw truth! x

Completely agree, I have stopped focusing on numbers and enjoying pictures and started posting more pictures about my life.

This speaks so much truth. As bloggers especially we are viewed in a certain way and that way is to be living that Instagram life! It shouldn’t be that way! Xx

While I’m not necessarily feeling the pressure to have the *perfect* instagram, I am definitely feeling the pressure to have a decent one. I’ve been putting in the effort recently to have something that at least ‘kind of’ resembles a theme, and I’m trying to push to get better interaction. I enjoy your instagrams, and I definitely see your point in that it should be a photo diary, and how important it is to try and not create the ‘perfect’ looking life, just a real one.

This is such a fab way to look at it Gail! Thank you so much for saying you enjoy my instagrams, it honestly means a lot, I definitely try to be real because I want people to relate to me!

I honestly, do not feel the pressure of the perfect Instagram life, I know it’s unrealistic! I work & eat crisps and drink fizzy pop too much haha!

I use my Instagram as a place to document things I’ve seen, read etc. I don’t have the energy to make it perfect.

I do however need that sleep mask – the perfect response to living with a morning person!

The face mask is from Tiger! I loved it too, it was the perfect response to my husband when he wakes up! xxxx

Bloggers and other social media influencers surely do feel that pressure. I don’t see that changing any time soon either.
