Books On My Reading List For Summer

Everyone knows that I love a good book and not only that I have found reading to be the most therapeutic thing ever! So, with a new season slowly coming in and the weather getting better it is time to get some fabulous new books ready for the lovely weather. Whether you’re going on holiday, having a staycation, on just having some chill time in your back garden, books are always needed. I’ve decided that this year I’m gonna have an amazing book list and read some fabulous books! Want to find out more? Well of course you do. I might write a few reviews on these books if I enjoy them! Let’s find out more about these books!

Eleanor and Park – I actually picked this book up for £1, I’ve started on it and I’m really enjoying it. Eleanor is the new girl in town & Park is the guy at the back of the bus, this book shows you how easy it is to judge a book by it’s cover!

The White Queen – This book is actually one of the first out of 3 in the War of the Roses and the Queen that is talked about is Elizabeth Woodville. I love history books, mainly because it is something that I have always enjoyed! I can’t wait to start this one!

Paper Towns – I know I know I am literally the last person on this bad wagon when it comes to Paper Towns and John Green, I mean I haven’t seen the film because I need to read the book first. (Yes I am one of those people!) It’s about a guy name Quentin who has adored Margo from afar fro a long time, she then comes into his life and he learns that the girl that he has adored for so long isn’t necessarily the girl he thought she was.

The Lie Of  You – Another cheap book I picked up and it is definitely right up my street. To the world Kathy has the picture perfect life, a beautiful baby, a handsome husband and a glamourous and high powdered job, but nothing is all what it seems!

Victoria – I’ve always loved Queen Victoria ever since learning about her at school, so when I saw the TV show it ignited my interest in her even more! It has so much information in it and is such a long book, I think it might take me a while!

A Room Swept White – I was really intrigued with this book, Fliss was delivered an anonymous note with 16 numbers on it, at the same time she was working on a documentary about the miscarriage of justice involving mothers who had been accused of murder where instead it was a cot death. Helen Yardley is then found dead in her home with those 16 numbers.

These are my book choices for over the warmer months. I think it is probably gonna take me a lot longer to read some of these, especially the Victoria book, but I’m gonna give it a good go!

What are your book choices this year? Do you have any recommendations? Leave your response in the comments!

    Hey Amie,

It’s great that you’re making time to do some reading. I used to read a lot more than I do now, so a summer reading list is definitely something that will help to get me back into book-mode.

I think you should read ‘The Shadow of the Wind’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It is an incredible book!

I always seem to read more in summer, it’s so nice to sit outside with a book! I’m a huge fan of Philippa Gregory but I’ve yet to read any of the books from the White Queen series (I’m obsessed with all the Tudor ones and would definitely recommend them). I hope you enjoy everything on your list! xx

I’m really into fantasy, especially around the Victorian era! I’ve started re-reading an old fave called The Age of Misrule.
