Taking Time Out After A Bad Day

We all get them don’t we? Whether it has been a rough day at work, angry customers, grumpy boss, getting soaked in the rain, missing your bus/train, we all have bad days. So when we get home we all need time to unwind and de-stress. After those kinds of days we all need down time, we all need to be able to chill out because let’s be honest it’s so bloody stressful it’s ridiculous. So how do we honestly deal with it?

Face mask.

Face masks are literally my go to, you can never have too many in my personal opinion! A good face mask,  is so calming, especially when you know that your skin is going to feel absolutely fabulous afterwards.

A good old cuppa.

Tea is practically the answer to all my problems, having a good cuppa is my favourite, especially when it is made just the way I like it!

Get away from your phone.

I’ve talked a lot about this recently, mainly because I think it is so important to get away from social media. As much as I love it, I personally find that it can be incredibly overwhelming and honestly we all need time away to be honest. (A side post on getting away from social media here)

Play a game.

I’m a big gamer, I love playing computer games, everything from Skyrim to Borderlands to Sims, I have such a massive mix on my computer and I absolutely adore it! It gets me away from the hectic world that we live in and time to just chill. It’s a fab thing to do.

I personally find that when I’ve had a pretty rubbish day a workout is exactly what I need. I usually do my cycling and then some yoga. To be honest I am appreciating yoga a lot more at the moment because it allows me to stay in touch with my body and find some inner peace.

Have a cupcake or 2.

I have always talked about a balanced diet, and it worries me when people completely cut things out of their diet. I am pretty fluid in what I eat, if I want a cupcake I will have one, but not all the time. My husband and I will have a takeaway, we don’t limit ourselves. A treat can always put us in a better mood, we deserve it!

Burn some candles.

I have an obsession with candles, especially if they smell good, so when you’re feeling a little low, get your favourite candle out, light it and chill. Some scents can be so relaxing too!

A bubble bath.

Who doesn’t love a lush bath bomb in their bath and then to just sit back with a glass of wine and chill. Let’s be honest that sounds like absolute heaven right? One of my favourite ways to chill!

What are your favourite ways to chill out after a rubbish day? Let me know in the comments!

Lovely post! Those kind of days can really get to you and fast. My favorite way to chill after a bad day is definitely by going to nature for a long walk. It always calms me down and makes me at least a little bit better. xo

    Love this post, Amie.
My favourite things are making a blanket mountain in bed, cuddling the bf, and watching videos of my nephew.

For someone who’s having a bad day, I loved this post. I took time away from my phone and had a nice cuppa and felt much better (and had a little cry too- but it’s ok!). Lovely advice for those inevitable down days.
