Less Thinking – More Acting

It’s getting to that point in the year where people are making their new years resolutions, and I am usually the kind of person that is all for it, but this year I’m like, noo not gonna happen, not in a million years, mainly because I like to have mini goals for each month. It makes life much easier and 2 you’re more likely to stick to the in the long term. In terms of reaching my goals this year, I have decided that I’m going to do less thinking about things I want to do and more acting on things.

This might sound totally straight forward and simple to carry out, but let’s be honest it really isn’t. We can say all of the words in the world but until we put those words into actions nothing is going to happen is it? We all want to feel that hope when we read something that gives us all the feels we need to feel like we can achieve anything but are things ever that simple?

This year however I have decided that I am going to write myself a letter & to anyone who is making goals for themselves throughout the year for when they need a little pick me up, a little helping hand when they feel like it is hopeless.

To the beautiful person reading this,

I know it is difficult to keep going sometimes, sometimes you will end up feeling like you are trying to push against so much that it is becoming pointless to keep trying, but I have news for you, you’re doing an amazing job, you’re strong and fabulous, and you’re strong enough to keep going.

When you feel like it is just too much, don’t worry, it is okay, there are people around you who will pick you up when you get down, or when it gets too much and we will get you over the finish line.

You are not alone.

We all need some form of help sometimes, and it can come in many forms, but asking for help is never a sign of failure, it is a sign of strength because you’re not giving up on what you believe in.

This is just the beginning and I promise you that you’ve got this.

Stay strong.

Love this post Amie! I make the mistake every year of making resolutions but never actually doing anything about them because I always think that I have lots of time to achieve them, so I definitely need to start acting more rather than just thinking about it.

Lovely post! Setting goals each month is definitely so much more achievable and allows you to track your progress much more closely. Wishing you the best of luck for 2017!

I really needed this today, been feeling so low. I think it might just be ‘cos I’m due my period but still… feel sucky 🙁 I keep comparing myself to others and want to achieve more. I never make New Years resolutions, I’ve always hated them, but found myself making some in my head for 2017! I want to be a better ally, stop putting things off and do the worst first, and take more photos! I used to take so many photos, but looking back I have a lot less from 2016. I’m gonna take my camera out more again in 2017, I miss it 🙂

Love this mantra. I’m definitely guilty of thinking about things I want to do all time, and making plans and goals – but never actually following through! I’m hoping to try and change that tho!
