Wow I cannot believe that it is almost the end of November, I mean it is crazy, and it has been a beautiful month! Now here is a chance for you to get to know another fabulous lady who has the most wonderful blog. If you’re a fan of fan fiction, of an incredibly strong writing style and someone whose voice comes through in all of their posts, then you need to read Kayleigh’s blog. Her writing honestly inspires me so much, but not only that I adore the fantastic person that she is, she is so kind and caring, I absolutely adore her! Ready to find out more, grab a cuppa and let’s go.

1. What was the reason you started your blog?

I started my blog for two reasons, really. The first being the fact I’m a control freak. For as long as I can remember I’ve been a writer, and I always knew I wanted to make that into something. To begin with I wanted to be published by one of the big houses, until I realised that meant having to edit what I’d written into what they wanted, and I’ve heard enough horror stories to be sure it wasn’t for me. Now I don’t have that to worry about. I can write what I want, with the characters I want, without having them whitewashed, or having my animal races being made humanoid. The second was to try to deal with my perfectionist streak. I was writing, but I was spending more of the time rewriting the same thing multiple times instead of doing something new, so I started posting stories online. At the beginning it was a case of write and post. It helped me to let go of the urge to make everything perfect, because that doesn’t really exist. When I post I sometimes have typos, but I don’t mind that. It’s so much better than not having my work out there at all.

2. What have you learned through your blogging/business journey?

Patience. I’ve always been the sort of person who wants things now. When it comes to building up an audience you need to have patience, because it’s not going to happen now, and it’s helped me to get back to writing for me. I write what I enjoy, for the first time in far too long, which makes me happier.

3. How would you best describe your blog/business?

My blog is a fiction blog. I create worlds. I fill them with races who have stories to tell. I tell those stories, as best I can, and I post them for other people to read.

4. Name something quirky that you can do, that we might not know about you.

Memorise song words. I, for some reason, have the best memory for songs, so much so that I surprise myself at times. I can listen to songs I haven’t heard in years and still sing along. Utterly useless, but still cool.

5. What was one of your favourite posts to write or create? What about it did you enjoy the most?

That’s a very difficult question. I have so many posts I love, but if I have to pick one it would definitely be Anne: A Bad Idea. Tudor history has always been a love of mine, and in that story I turned Anne Boleyn into a vampire. This, in turn, led to Henry the Eighth becoming a vampire, and I’m so looking forward to writing about what happens next.

6. Why should someone come and visit your blog/shop/business?

Come and visit if you like to read speculative fiction. I have a multiple worlds that I write for, some interesting characters who are dealing with different problems, and I’m posting new stories at least three times a week.
