Behind Closed Doors Book Review

behind-closed-doors-book-review

I’ve really got back into my reading recently, I have been working so hard to make time to read a good book and just chill out. I mean there are so many fabulous books out there, it’s about time I made time to get reading, so I picked this one up in WHSmith because they had a buy 1 get 1 half price which I thought was absolutely fabulous for me. And there is nothing better than getting a good book that is on sale, so are you ready to fall in love with this book? Let’s go!

Summary

This book is all about Grace and Jack, they seem like the seemingly perfect couple, they have the perfect life, wealth, looks, happiness, class, elegance but there is something that isn’t right. Grace and Jack are never apart, now people might view that as being in love and truly happy, but Grace cannot go anywhere without Jack being attached to her hip! So when people ask Grace to go out for lunch, she cancels or Jack is just there by her side. There are so many secrets that are masked by the perfect lie.

Overall Thoughts

I found that this book tugged at my emotions on every page, I have never had a book like it in all honesty. It gives a lot of the secrets up on the first few pages which is a good thing in this case because you know what is going on, but you want to know what is going on and what is going to happen further through the book. It is one of those fast paced books that keep you wanting more, but at the same time it is quite disturbing! The book covers all angles, it gets you feeling so much for all the characters whether it is fear, hate or love, it is scarily realistic because you can imagine it all in your head, you can see the characters, you can feel what they’re feeling! The other thing about this book is it gets you thinking that you should never judge a book by it’s cover, just because it seems perfect on the outside doesn’t mean that is always the case.

I really enjoyed this book I managed to finish it in about 2 days, but I wasn’t too impressed with the ending, I thought in some ways it wasn’t a realistic and believable as the rest of the book had been. It was such a good book and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a psychological thriller!

A warning this book may cause a few emotional triggers.

Fancy buying this book? You can get it on Amazon here!

I’ve had this in my basket on amazon for ages but haven’t got round to buying it yet. I do love psychological thrillers. Maybe I should get it after all!
