When Francesca contacted me about advertising I was over the moon because I was in love with her blog! I loved the fact that there was so many different things on her blog including amazing alternative fashion posts, lifestyle posts, beauty reviews and everything! Francesca has a wonderful blog filled with so many amazing things! Ready to get to know her? Let’s go!
What was the reason that you started a blog?
I began my blog so that I could have a creative outlet. For me, I could talk about my experiences, worries and have another reason to look at gorgeous fashion, sample and review all of the things that I love beauty-wise. Now I get to produce posts about my interests, and I hope that I can entertain whilst doing so! I’m also in love with the sense of community with other bloggers that I’ve met. I only started my blog journey in January of this year, but my baby of a blog has helped me meet so many like-minded inspirational individuals that I can now call friends.
What have you learned through your blogging journey?
I’ve learned that blogging is not as easy as it looks. In the beginning I thought that it was such a breeze, but once you start battling with staying motivated, and trying to produce new interesting ideas you learn very quickly that it is not the case at all. I started to feel completely swamped! I had so many ideas but not enough time in my day-to-day life to implement them. I have since then de-stressed myself, and reignited that motivation that I started off with. I’ve gone back to enjoying the blogging process a lot more now. I think back to why I wanted to take the plunge into blogging and remind myself of all the positives that sparked my interest in the first place.
How would you best describe your blog?
A body-positive fashion, and beauty blog that dabbles in alternative, and gothic styles infused with dashes of geeky culture… It’s a great mix I promise. Name something quirky that you can do, that we might not know about you. I can create video games, whilst I’d ideally earn a living from playing them… I’ve been studying video game design for over 6 years now, and I hope to eventually take the step to become a teacher/lecturer within the subject. I can also easily spend a whole day lost in the fantasy world of Skyrim. I’d much rather become my character, roaming around like an utter badass, fighting dragons and saving the day… but this will do!
What was one of your favourite posts to write/create? What about it did you enjoy the most?
‘The perils of being a plus-sized girl – Dating’ http://www.francescastone.com/2016/04/the-perils-of-being-plus-sized-girl.html … It was by far the longest post that I created on my blog so far. It gives a little peek at my life as a plus-sized lady within my dating life. I tried to keep it witty, a bit tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at myself and some of the situations that I’ve found myself in. It was my favourite post to write because whoever was reading it could learn a little about me, and get a real feel of my personality. I loved writing it so much that I’m creating a mini series of humourous ‘the perils of a plus-sized girl’ posts in the future. So if you’re interested in reading more be sure to keep an eye out for those!
Why should someone come and visit your blog?
If you’re interested in alternative fashion, beauty and getting to know a blogging newbie then I’m your girl! My blog is in the baby stages, it’s still taking it’s first steps and I’m enjoying the learning curve that comes with this experience, but I would love it if more people interacted and started a conversation with me, take a minute to come say hello, introduce yourself. I love meeting new people, and also the fact that I get to nosey around on other blogs and discover great people too, that’s a huge bonus.
