A Grateful Christmas

We take so much for granted, I know I definitely do, I take for granted how lucky I am to have a roof over my head, food in my tummy, a wonderful husband and a loving family. I know I might sound a little preachy but honestly I feel so grateful and I think with Christmas it gives you a chance to appreciate the people we have around you.

My Husband – He is the most incredible human being I have ever met, I mean seriously he is bloody perfect. Even though he literally drives me mad, he dribbles on my pillow and someone manages to make his way onto my side at night he is my best friend, he knows me inside out, he knows exactly how I am feeling, but not only that he is always there for me no matter what happens even if it is 2am he will be there.

My Family – I am so very lucky to have such an incredible family, I do bash heads with my family, we do have our moments (well quite a few) but honestly they’re a wonderful lot. My mum and dad have always been good with me, even though they aren’t together and haven’t been since I was young they were so good to me. I am also super lucky to have 2 step parents, my step dad is one of the kindest men you will ever meet, and my step mum is so generous with everything she does, I am so lucky! I have a wonderful *adopted* sister who even though she is up in Blackpool is always there for me no matter what.

My in laws are some of the best people in the world, my father in law is about as mad as a box of frogs, but he has a heart of gold, my mumma in law is brilliant she is so kind, caring, when you’re down she will always put a smile back on your face. My brother in laws, Leslie is a car fanatic, but he is absolutely hilarious and his fiancee Lola is one of the most genuine people ever, her daughter is an absolute angel! Michael, he has special needs, but his smile lights up  your entire day, his personality is infectious and he will always ask if you’re okay, he is just a delight to be around and seeing him smile makes my day. My sister in law, well, where do I start with the Yas-bag? She is ridiculously talented, her drawings are some of the best I’ve ever seen she is so kind and caring, I literally think the world of her, she is one of the closest things I’ll ever have to a sister and I can trust her with my life.

My Best Friend – Megan means so bloody much to me, we have been through so much rubbish together, and the scary thing about us, is the fact that we are so alike, Paul even mentions it when we have spent time together we have that influence on each other, it is like we were twins separated at birth.

My Blogging Family – A lot of my blogging family have only been in my life for a few months, however I feel like I’ve known so many of you for ages now. The blogging community is an incredible place to be, I mean honestly, I don’t think I have ever felt this much love from a community  ever. I am so so grateful to everyone who has supported me and inspired me and l been there for me.

What are you grateful for this year? I’d love to know your thoughts!

I’m glad it helped you to stop and think! Sometimes when life is so busy we forget and I think Christmas does make me think about how lucky I truly am! <3

I loved reading this post Amie! So many people are ungrateful for what they have. I often see a lot of emphasis placed on presents at Christmas, which makes me so sad. I wish more people were truly appreciative of the food they have, the roof over their heads & the family & friends who will always be there for them no matter what. This truly was a joy to read & you’ve inspired me to write my own post on this topic. I hope you have a truly wonderful Christmas surrounded with this group of wonderful people! Xx
