Katie Hopkins Tweets About Baby Born With Half A Head Suffering From A Brain Condition

Katie Hopkins

For people are unsure about who Katie Hopkins is Katie appeared on The Apprentice in 2007, throughout the show however she did come out with some incredibly controversial comments, however when it came to going through to the final she turned it down! Since then she has gone on to do a variety of reality television shows like I’m a Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother. Katie Hopkins has been known to say a variety of different yet disgusting comments on social media, I have previously spoken about her comments that have been made about dementia were utterly vile, but yet again Katie goes ahead and outdoes herself and it just gets worse. I never ever thought it could.

Jaxon Buell

Jaxon Bell is a beautiful little boy who has defied all of the odds when doctors said that he would only live a few weeks, he would never see, speak or hear because he had been diagnosed with a rare brain disorder. This beautiful little miracle has been an absolute inspiration by learning to say “mama” and “daddy” which I think personally is fantastic!

Katie then went on to say some of the most vile things that I have ever heard

This has to be one of the worst things I’ve ever read, the fact that she called this beautiful baby an “it” is disgusting, Jaxon is a human being, he has a name, people need to respect that!

It breaks my heart to think that someone would actually turn around and say that a baby has no future because of his brain condition. Jaxon isn’t defined by his condition, he is an incredible little boy who will achieve so much, and I’m sure he has given hope to a lot of parents who might have a child who has the same condition.

There are people out there who wish they could have a child, yes he has a condition but that doesn’t mean he is any less loved and cared about, he is a beautiful miracle and I think that is something to be treasured.

I can’t honestly understand how one person could say something as vile as Katie has, I look at that beautiful baby Jaxon he has fought so hard he is getting stronger and stronger, he has defied everything that the doctor has said, he has said his first words, he may have a brain condition but that doesn’t mean that someone of 40 should be allowed to treat an innocent child like that! Looking at everything that he has achieved doesn’t that show that he should be here, he is alive, he is breathing, he is speaking, he is a beautiful child who will live his life to the max with his wonderful parents!

Reading the statement that the Buell family issued made me see how much the Brandon and Brittany love their son, how they would have fought for him, how they gave him a chance at life, they understood the risks that could have come with that, they got the opinion of an expert.

It’s baffling to hear or see other people’s opinions on our baby that have never met him, that somehow know how he thinks, how he acts, how he feels, how much of what he does is voluntary or involuntary, how he is always in pain and that we are selfish parents for not choosing to have an abortion. No doctor could tell us exactly what was wrong or what to expect but we did make sure to ask if Jaxon was in pain or was suffering, and we asked if there were any added risks for Brittany during the pregnancy or potentially at time of delivery. Since the answer to both questions was ‘no’ we never came close to considering an abortion. It was our choice, and only our choice. I’ll never understand how choosing to carry Jaxon and giving him a chance to survive could ever be considered ‘selfish’.

Judgement

Why are we judging these incredible parents for their choice? They looked into everything, they didn’t want their son to be in pain or suffer, they gave him a chance and if it did unfortunately mean that he didn’t live long (he has done so well) Brittany and Brandon will have had those beautiful memories with him knowing he wasn’t suffering or in pain and had the chance to feel loved by his wonderful parents. I know I definitely take a lot from this beautiful little boy, his strength and determination has been an incredible inspiration.

Treat People The Way You Want To Be Treated

As a child, my Nan told me that you should treat people the way you would want to be treated, so by reading this I think, how would Katie feel if someone turned around and said that about her children? Everyone has a right to freedom of speech and to put their point across, but personally, I think she has crossed the line on too many occasions especially this one.

I will finish this post with a beautiful quote from his family:

No matter who you are or what you believe in, it’s clear that Jaxon’s tiny footprints will have a lasting impression on this world, and that he has already touched and inspired more lives in one year than most of us ever will in our lifetime. For his life, I am better, I am blessed, I am grateful and I am quite simply one proud ‘Addy’. I love you, son. Well done, big guy. #JaxonStrong.

This is one incredible little boy who deserves acknowledgement, not to have his parents battered by someone who doesn’t understand the condition or the choice that Brandon and Brittany would have had to go through!

First off, wow. Brave take on a difficult subject, kudos for having the oysters to speak your mind! I didn’t know about this and I am blown away by Katie’s unapologetic insensitivity. Personal attacks – on a BABY – are never the way to go.

That said, I think the whole point of pro-CHOICE is to be able to HAVE the choice to choose the choices for YOU, regardless of what some loudmouth jerk on Twitter has to say. I support Jaxon’s family making the choice they made for their son, and I support the mothers who’ve chosen not to continue their pregnancies for WHATEVER reason. I do not support, however, a woman’s right to choose to be an asshole to a baby on Twitter. That’s never the right choice.

I completely agree with you Meghan, I think it is important to realise that everyone has a choice in life and as a person it is important to respect everyone’s decision. I fully support Jaxon’s family and what they’re trying to achieve, they wanted him to have a life, they wanted him to have a chance. People who haven’t gone through with pregnancies are completely okay, it’s about choice, if there are problems and the family believe that they wouldn’t have a good quality of life, then that is their decision and they should do what is best for the mother and baby. I just want people to realise that it is completely unfair to attack a child who clearly has 2 parents who adore him who want to give them the best quality of life, we should be supporting him and raising awareness for the condition, not throwing words at a child. <3

She’s just a vile, selfish person that doesn’t think about how her comments affect others. Lianne | TheBrunetteSays

I completely agree, I think sometimes actual thoughts for anyone don’t even go into her mind, it’s terrible, she shouldn’t be allowed to do it! <3

I can´t believe the things Katie has tweeted. How can someone be so ignorant?? Jaxon is a beautiful baby boy and stronger than many adults are. The parents don´t have it easy as it is and shaming them for getting their baby is just plain wrong. They made the choice that was right for them. Everyone has different opinions and that´s great. Sometimes it´s just better to keep them to yourself.
I can only agree with everything you´ve said. I like that you bring more awareness to this situation.

Exactly, at the end of the day it was their decision, they took expert opinions, he clearly has an incredible life with his parents and nothing changes the person he is because of his condition, he isn’t defined by that, he is defined by the wonderful person he is, the spirit that he has and the love that he clearly has for his parents. Thank you so much for a wonderful comment, it honestly means the world! <3

You’re brilliant. This post is brilliant. Jaxon is brilliant. Katie Hopkins just personifies everything unhappy and unkind in the world and I’m glad people speak up against her (even though I’m sure that’s exactly what she wants. The bizarre woman). I think Jaxon is adorable and having “half a head” doesn’t make him any less of a person. I think anyone who fails to be inspired by such a story is hardly human themselves.
Really enjoyed reading your views on this, thank you for writing it 🙂

Thank you so much Teri, it honestly means the world. I just want people to realise that she shouldn’t be allowed to get away with comments like that, they’re damaging, and not only that it stops people from looking at what we should really be doing which is raising awareness. <3
